I've always wanted to write this but didn't find the right moment.

As bizarre it may sound, Badi Maa always reminds me of "Dumbledore" (those unfortunate ones to be oblivious to this being check this wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albus_Dumbledore ) Casting Badi Maa as a 'Bahu' 'Beti' 'Maa' 'Sister' 'Dadi' is very inept. She can be perceived & believed to be the Guardian Angel always thinking about the "Greater Good"

"Senile" is oxymoronic with "Badi Maa". Case & Point: She giving Suhana permission to work in Television Industry. A few days back, I would have excepted "moron" as an adjective to define Badi Maa. But even in that difficult (to us viewers) period, she was anything but "Senile".

The very thing that she knows her boundaries is the reason she knows how far to push to hover but not cross the limit.

Overhauling Rano's heart. Seriously, U raised this point. The same Rano who sold off her God for a lesser evil. I can say a lot of adjects in Rano's honor from nave to gullible. "Senile" is her implied trait. As is benign. Just a matter of time.

"They are also humans and can lose the plot from time to time!" I can bring back Dumbledore in the convo. "Greater Good" "Perception" "Legilimency".

"Indirect Dictatorship" (read the previous para again)

P.S. Jack of all trades & a master of "Split Hairs"

KK should have paid for suhana's medical expenses n ishan's monthly house expenses. After all Kk has lost his wife so he would want his SIL to spend as much time with her .

Other DIL should not do any household work but just keep their husband s . Just show up breakfast , lunch dinner n don't do house work . But that's not gonna happen . At that time they ( BM - RB - RANO ) WILLsay aaj khaana nahi khaana kya ? Ssab bhukhe ho gaye hain . Jao aab khaana banao , muh kya dekh rahi ho ? How would it look if DILs of the house r sitting around , doing gupp shup while MILs of the house r working their off .

I m just being sarcastic , not towards any of the commenters but towards BM n full of partiality advices .

Loved your post!!! So according to that calculation only BM and RB would be left to do house chores along with Ishika and Meethi !!! Ha ha lol as all the others would be just LOOKING AFTER there husbands to keep them happy, including Dadi !!

I love BM's character but can't just say that she is always right and that is human nature we can't be right always or wrong all the times.

But, I think most of us are getting BM wrong here.

My view is she didn't say "forget about your mother completely."

During BM-Ishaan conversation, she just wanted an honest answer from Ishaan regarding Suhana's work. As Ishaan had just heard Rano's view about the topic earlier, Bm didn't want Rano's stance to influence Ishaan. So, Bm just said, "tum Rano ko bhool jao", meaning just temporarily forget Rano's view & share ur unbiased thoughts on this matter.

She wanted to know Ishaan's perspective & hence said the above line. She didn't mean that you should never listen to Rano or ignore her always. Moreover Bm cares for Rano; so during Rano's outburst, she tried to calm her and make her understand the problem.

Secondly, the thing that Bm told Suhana, " Tum bas Ishaan ka acche se khayaal rakhna, usse hamesha khush rakhna."

I know as a DIL its Suhana responsibilty towards her family as well.

But , from Bm's Pov, when she married Ishwar, she too was of the opinion that ,"Marrianges happen between two families rather than between two peolple." Bm always thought her responsibilty rowards the family comes first than Ishwar. So, she couldnt give enough time to Ishwar & her duties towards him. Remember the Bm-Suhana scene where she told that " Tumhare Bp wanted to have candlelight dinner in our room" or "Bp wanted me to wear modern clothes." Ishwar, being ambitious, started feeling distanced from Bm. This ultimately led to Ishwar getting married to another woman. So, BM is of the opinion that her giving less attention to Bp led to her failed marriage. She has had a bitter experience. She doesnt want her children to go through the same, hence she told suhana to look after Ishaan well.

In Kashyap joint family, difference of opinion are bound to happen as many people are staying together & Bm is just trying to hold the house together and keep everyone happy.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Also if the parent is acting irrationally (as Ishan thinks so) then YES someone does have a right to tell her off. Maybe its just me and the way I am raised, I respect my parents and love them with all my heart but that doesnt excuse them from being wrong which they are in many occasions, and BM didnt demean Rano in any way at all...she was very calm and balanced when she was talking to Rano when Rano was furious

and also Ishan himself stated in today's episode that he has absolutely no problem with Suhana working...and BM praised him for it that he was so understanding that he was willing to do anything for Suhana's happiness

BM's talk on marriage were spot on...she wasnt lecturing Ishan about keeping Suhana happy, she merely stated a fact that if the relationship is not handled in the right way then it is broken and she was citing herself and Ishwar as an example.

I don't think BM is wrong in any way regarding this matter neither is Rano...both of these mothers have a justified view on their argument

I dont think that she is handling the family like a dictatroship😕 if she was then she would be like Gauri's MIL

Hi there, I don't think you fully understood what I meant. Never mind. What I said was that its another form of dictatorship. Its an indirect approach. Where she makes silly decisions without fully consulting or informing the people concerned. Going ahead with something while others are not in full agreement is showing disregard and authority. It is not always a bad thing if the situation requires it but its not a good thing either. Whenever Rano has said no something, they've allowed it, overlooking her points. Why? I am not taking sides here, just looking at different factors.

Yes I know what you mean but still as a mother she should know better than to say "forget about Rano". Would she like that if Rano said that to Inder or Panna? (I don't think Rano would say such a thing in any case).

Of course most people and love and respect their parents and elders but being elder does not always mean that they are right. They too are capable of making mistakes but often they are overlooked just because they are a senior. Rano is right in how she feels, its just her way, her method is not the best given! I guess that is the elder's fault too. If they had been including her in all decisions and discussion, she would have learnt to deal with things better!

Alok basically was borderline rude with Rano by saying she had a problem with Ishan,Ishika and Suhana and was taunting her. BM wasn't rude to her at all...throughout the entire conversation BM was very civil and calm with Rano so I don't see why you guys are thinking BM is wrong here🤔

We are not saying that she was rude, what we are saying is the BM needs to take a backseat sometimes, why does she always have to get involved? There are others there na?

In fact BM was the one who brought forth logical points in that argument...where was Rano's concern when Suhana was home ALONE in an unknown city when Ishan was busy in the office (or frolicking with bachpan ki dost rather)

Well Rano is really not that open minded to see the bigger picture, I guess she's just like that. Yes BM tried to pacify and thats fine but I do not agree with her telling a child to overlook a parent, thats all.

I understand Rano's concern and I do agree with her that she has a right to think about her son and DIL's life but the way she has presented her argument comes off as hypocritical especially when she assumed that Suhana-Ishan will remain childless and also that Suhana cannot handle responsibilities of a wife and a career oriented woman...it sounds too orthodox and chauvinistic

Your last paragraph I do agree with. While I agree to her points, Rano tends to take things too far, especially in the Ishika incident and now, just because Suhana does odd shifts doesn't mean she will remain childless! We all have to do whatever it is when the time comes. Life is such that it teaches you to accept and get a long, not neccessarily in agreement!
