😲 I am shocked seeing the Topic Maker Name... and then double 😲😲 seeing the Length of the Post... 😉😆😆😆😆
On a Serious note... Very Well written Ekta... 👍🏼 and moreover... It did bring back so many Cable Memories from Childhood... 😆😆
Like Sushma said... We also had TV with 8 channels.. and hence, to watch different channels... Me n My Bro used to keep changing the settings... 😉😆
The Scene where they Shout Aaya... Aaya... reminded me of Me n My Bro's shouting... Later when Neighbors started their COmplains to my Mom that your Children makes too much noise in the afternoon... Me n My bro had come up with different different sign Languages for Aaya... ke Nai... 🤣🤣🤣 which only we both can understand... 🤣🤣
When I was in 10th, 12th, the Board Exam Years... Mom disconnected the Cable.. so, whenever I feel like watching Cable... I will go to Terrace n Join my TV with the Cable... coz Cable antena was on our Terrace as I used to Live in Flat😉 🤣 so, I have done Cable chori many a times...🤣
Later on to I became Pro in Cable fixing... whenever Cable is gone... Padosis will Say Sachi... Beta... Jana Terrace pe jake dekh kya huaa hai... dekhna agar Fix kar sakti hai to... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those were the Fun days... Also, as SB said... our Cable wala will show Latest Movies on one channel during the weekends... so, me n my bro will seat in front of the TV like almost everytime during saturdays n sundays... 🤣
90's time was the Best to grown up I feel whenever I see SMS generation... though we didn't had much of Luxiries... We Enjoyed each n every small Little Thing 😃
Thanks for the Post... it made me nostalgic 😊

sachi, i grew up watching DD and DD metro as there was no cable connection in our house...i still remember when we first got cable it was just because mom wanted to listen to religious discourses so initially we saw cable for just 1-2 hours but slowly it was we who were watching the tv whole time and mom hardly got to listen to religious discourses😆

@ Sheemu-sama: True, even I liked the Shanti Massi and KK parts…..KK was obviously a large reflection of most of us SGPians…and Shanti Massi reminded me of my grandma is so hooked onto saas-bahu sagas but denies it. 😆

@ jonyeastwood or whatever your real name is 🤣: OMG, you totally reminded me of the antenna days too…..it was for a short while in my life but at least I can proudly say I lived through those times too. 😆

@ Loney: Even I used to watch Lizzy McGuire 😲…..surprised it aired in India though….didn't think Disney Channel was available then. 😕 😆
😆
@ Sushma (you are the Icy Maiden, right?? Did you change your ID? 😲): I LOL'd at the whole "Pushpa push a title." That was funny…and wow, can't imagine 8 channels only!!! But you're right, even with so many channels, there's not really anything worth watching. 😆

@ sb: OMG, you don't know how many minutes I sat thinking about the Dish thingamajig!!! 🤣 I seriously forgot what they were called again and was sooo tempted to write satellites. 🤣 But then I remembered the embarrassment I had to face previously because of it and decided that this would be suitable. 😆 And LOL at your troll face….I think it suits you the best. I would also make that face when my mom suddenly decided I needed to stop watching serials in middle school. 😆

@ abhi: OMG, wow….I guess you had it worse than me. 😆 If I were you, I 'd probably bash the cassettes, tv, and cassette player in frustration. 🤣But that's interesting how you guys go through this whole log process…first compiling list of movies, then seeing if they're available, then going back to relay the information and finally picking the ones that were available. Reminds me of how I used to search the internet for books that I want to read and then go see if they had it at the local library so I didn't have to spend time searching books there.

@ Sachi: Now I can't do anything….every time I come, you're in shock. 🤣 Now if only you'd faint in shock too, then we'd always have expectations running around, this time centered on you. 🤣LOL at you doing cable chori!!! I wish I had something like that too but there was no tv in my room and no cable coming through it. So when my mom disconnected our serial watching time, we made these fake earphones out of cups and wire and we'd secretly place one end near the tv and the other end would be near our ears so we can try to listen to the drama while our mom thought we were sleeping. But it never worked because the wire had to be stiff straight and ours curved. Dukhi ho kay sote the hum dhono.😆

@ Renu: You are gandi bachi as always, doing bad harkatein. 🤣 Your poor mom needs condolence for her soul and all you do is watch SGP and Balaji serials all the time. Daat chi hat. 😡
🤣

sorry not able to load image😭
on sunday morning watch rangoli with whole family
and how can we forget this show

Alif Laila
mom used to scold us and say "tv band kar de raat ko darega"

then came cable tv (tar ko kundi lagana, to watch cartoon network) and the cable guy scolding us & complaining to our parent's.
after that we used to place the DD antenna near the cable wire & watch cable for free😆 😆

all the memories came to the mind & yes those were really golden day's 👍🏼 & thank's ekta for opining the post.

Seriously... Alif Laila was my favourite... I never missed a single episode of that show...😉 SGP reminded all those memories... now in this digital age we laugh at those things 😆

i'm also in the list of person's who had tv with 8 channel's only. we had a 21inch tv of bush brand.
in those day's our's was the best tv. my dada-ji had a black&white tv which had shutter's in front of screen to close the screen😆. the shutter's would come from left & right and meet at center of screen.
