Oh Nandy you saved me some awkwardness…
In between, first time, i liked Kusum today:😃 "Saras bhai"…" Kusum didi jisko dil se chahti he…" she was indeed a true confidante today!👏👍🏼

We think that the show is miles away from the movie but moments like these show that it really does capture the essence of it after all!

Saras ka pyaar:

Wants proof, needs validation and assurance

He is still insecure and is still testing her feelings for him

His love has yearnings, and expectations

Which is why, when he doesn't see her being jealous,

It shakes him up

I totally did not expect him to be that angry. To me that was a tad bit off character for him. But looking at the larger picture, it was probably needed.

Kumud ka pyaar:

Her love is a part of her being

As she breathes, so she loves

Her love has transcended worldly trappings

And is a part of her soul

She will always love him

No matter what

Wow, beautifully expressed!! 👏

Was this again a sign of things to come?

Will Saras judge her by her actions, and not peep into her heart

And doubt her love?

And Kumud, she will just love him

Because, she just can't not love him!

I hope not. I looked at it a little differently though. As time goes by, I feel like this will help Saras understand the concept of true love where no matter what they face in the future, the realization of this unique bond will withstand everything.

Of course, today belonged to Kumud,

That's why the song from Saraswatichandra describes her

Beautiful in body and mind, she is the epitome of beauty!

Saras demanded she appreciate him, she had no such expectations!!

Epitome of human perfection, I would say! Seriously, this character never seems to amaze and inspire me. I have never felt so touch by Kumud more than today. Her lines were beautifully written and Jenny did an awesome job at delivering them!

Saras now wants to see his name on her mehendi

Because her name is written on his heart

Oh boy, I feel another epic romantic moment is upon us! 😉

Chanku ki chemistry - 10/10

Romance - 10/10

Dialogues - 10/10, what beautiful lines we had today -

Jahan vishvas ho wahan Jalan nahi hoti

Jahan Jalan ho wahan pyaar nahi

Sirf pane ki zid hoti hai

Tum toh dil tod ke bhi dekh chuke ho

Pyaar tab bhi kum nahi hua

Tumhare chavi pani main nahi utari

Jo ek tarang se bikhar jayegi

Tumhari chavi mere dil main utari hai

Jise main khud bhi kabhi mita nahi paaongi

Kumud main tumhare haathon pe apna naam dekhne ke liye bahut besabr hoon

Kyon ki tumhara naam main apne dil pe likh chuka hoon

This show has consistently given such amazing dialouges. One that I would add to this awesome list is Kumari's one liner.

"Main Pyaar ke saath hoon!"

CVs today surprised me, no tit for tat from Kumud, no trivial flirting,

Just deep all encompassing love!

Thank you Mr SLB

It's not for nothing that you are called the king of romance!

Totally agree. With every movie and now with every scene like this, he redefines Love! 👏

Episode rating - 9/10

Dekho, dil ko choo jayega!

Kumud pe bahut naaz hoga

Aur Saras pe bahut pyaar aayega

Aaj party sharty ho jaye, kusum called him Saras bhai!

Dugba - love you, you made Kumari so happy!

After his outburst, emanating from a panicky insecurity, she soothed him peaceful -removing last vestige of that insecurity…at the pond, like those lotus, she was a life balm to him; calm, serene and patient...She was a repose that he can safely anchor his entire life.

He has been talking of wanting a lifetime together, marriage kind of, she has just been talking of love irrespective of anything!

Stamping seemed to be theme of the epi

Arshi, I did. Today felt like he was trying to do exactly what he had told Sunny yesterday that he wants to live his life with Kumud. He has started taking his steps towards making her his.

This was our talk there in that thread, right arshi?

Central theme slightly deviates; In book SC-Kumud had fallen headlong for each other post engagement and they had unambiguously admitted their love. To mention, how it has irrevocably seized Kumud's consciousness, quoting author's one sentence (from many such on both) ," nadi na nirmal jal ma aakash nu pratibimb anivarya atyajaya thai pade tem Saraswatichandra na antahkaran nu pratibimb nirdosh kanya ni mansik srushti ma sampurna, apratihat ane sarvakalin avakaash paami gayu..." Such kind of impact requires 'two way' call and mutual respects, not one sided 'deferments.😊

Now Green underlined was the direct quote from the book ( today i have posted same tin Srushti's thread too)😊

Well giving a clumsy translation here (please be indulgent, an engineering training does not permit good skill):

Just as the broad, all binding Sky imprints its ceaseless reflection on crystal waters of a pristine river- intact and entire, likewise, Sarsawatichandra's exquisite mind and person has stamped its integral, entire, abiding print on innocent Maiden's consciousness- inexorably, everlastingly, immutably.

Now please excuse the wordiness. My inadequacy does not transmit a fraction of original's majesty and economy. Alos, please don't judge flowery language in original...Author wanted to convey their mutual melding'he does not have aids of visuals, BG, live actors...words were his only medium...😲

Thanks Samarth, I am sure you have translated wonderfully and even if the wordings are not proper o are the king among the ignorant. Beautiful lines indeed, I almost feel maybe the author was one of those writers who compares love and beauty to nature. It felt like hearing Ilayaraja's or RD Burman's lyrics, thanks again.
Reading your "Such kind of impact requires 'two way' call and mutual respects, not one sided 'deferments." , it has changed now, hasn't it. Saras respects and loves Kumud and Kumud the same as well, so using this line here does justice to their love at this stage. I had somehow felt that there was not much left of the novel other than the essence of the characters but if we are getting these dialogues from the original after a love confession I have to say maybe we have even got something of the story's originality getting tried out in this.

- I think it was Preity Zinta the actress who had made a very pithy comment that in a relationship between two people, there is always one person among the two who loves the other less than the other. The person who loves less is the dominant person in the relationship because he/she has less to lose. Consequently the person who loves more sacrifices more and is somewhat subservient to the needs of the dominant partner...And this with all factors being equal i.e. you think you love each other the same...more of a subconscious behaviour..

@hotdogg, this line " the person who loves less is the dominant because he/she has less to lose.", if we compare it with the current scenario I will almost say it is Saras who has more to lose when compared to Kumud. He has never had anyone to love him nor had anyone to love, so Kumud should be the centre of his universe. As you say Kumud is definitely the person who has fallen in love with him many times but isn't it because she cared for him from the start, seeing his eyes she wanted to share his pain whereas Saras has fallen in love with her after coming here and knowing her. She has given him a new life and losing her would be the worst that could happen to him. Maybe for now we can say she loves him more, I feel it is only because she is mature in understanding love but I feel it is not still time to say he will be the dominant partner here.

Oh Kaadal, if you will see our debate there, you wud understand, then i was referring this 'deferment' as his highhandedness charged with 'you called me'. Plus upcoming, continued condescension based on a false superstition, leading to an upcoming tract which culminated with that arrogant edict " Umid he Jazbato ki'" In original SC was never such arrogant if anything else...

I think the arrogance of the male lead and boldness of female are traits of SLB sprinkled on his character but since you had brought this up I would like to ask you a question. I had asked this to Arshi when we were debating about the license of SLB to deviate from original, was SC a weak character in the novel ? Sending a letter rejecting a girl and then falling in love but rejecting her still for whatever reason it was, still needs a bit of arrogance doesn't it, a normal man for whom emotions and love are important won't do that to a girl he loves so deeply. That makes me curious to know the SC in the novel.

Nandy,
Kusum's 'Saras bhai' was more sincere here for 1) Scriptwriter wrote her call the friend "Sunny"😃 sans 'bhai"😉 at the same time…2) She called him "Saras bhai" twice…second time, with added assurance, " Sarasbhai radha se jyada bast kar rage he…agar Kumud didi ne dekh liya to…"
This combined reference is more assuring.😃😆
But you are right in a way…not safe, till she is 'actually paired!😕

This is a very interesting tweak they have come up solely to make this character look less weak and more palatable. (For opinion/impression about original, you already were there in that thread -CB 13 or 14 may i think- and this is not me only...much of readers in Gujarat i have an impression...)

About the tweak...actually in original, he is unwittingly written 'weak' because of idealism.
In Book, the rejection letter- actually more a withdrawal letter- came AFTER the RN visit. There was NO such rejection before the visit. Rather mutual call letters, first being from Kumud after announcement of the engagement by the elders! Later He disappeared after an altercation with father, despite being abundantly warned by this friend about injustice to Kumud when he saw him preparing to go and was alarmed! He was well aware about the awakened love between these two. But SC persisted...sending her...(a short poem " Priya ramya vibhavari.."🤢)...perhaps I shud not..
but see the effect of tweak here...a rejection before any aroused feelings ( as in this script) takes away much of capriciousness as an irresponsible act which it appears in the book, (where he withdrew after the Love!)...it's going to be a huge manoeuvre for Gumaan, to now reproduce the rejection..i have an uncomfortable feeling...to make him look less capricious, they will pass some of the 'blame' on Kumud- (as that day she was aroused)...Well, in book Kumud had absolutely no say or act in collapse of the betrothal or his flight...

@ Samarth - blue - is there is any significance/ symbolism to this or just aesthetics?
