With her MIL asking her to think & do things which will earn her a blessing, Gopi shared with her , her heart felt feelings. I always do everything with deep love & responsibility & never do with a expectation of a reward !!! This shows as much as she was going about her work, she was also thinking about what she should be doing & she knew it in her heart & mind that blessings are something which elders of the house give out of love & you do not force them to give them to you !!! Even thought the contest is related to her life, her love, her future, she did not deviate from this & stayed by what she believed. When Gopi got married & came to her husband's house, behind every blessing she received in form of a gift or a hand put on her head , she only saw the love the family had for her with those blessings !!!
When her MIL stopped talking & then stopped calling her Meri Gopi Vahu, during the Kinjle's wedding because she had done a mistake, Gopi was very hurt.
After she won the navratri competition along with her husband , her Ahemji , the next day her MIL called her to the mandir & asked her to do the pooja. Thats when Gopi realised that her MIL had after days called her as Gopi Vahu & that gave her immense happiness as she saw the love her MIL had for her & she sees the love behind the blessing that she has forgiven her !!! When her mami asked her to apply nail polish, she did not even think about the contest so that she could please her mami & get a Neek...& when her mami asked Anitha to apply nail polish to her feet, she stopped her mami immediately as Anitha was a guest of the house & these were things which they did not allow the guest of the house to do !!! As her mami had given her the Neek, she was happy that her mami had blessed her for the work she had done & gave it to her out of love.
But as Gopi realised that Neek was given to her to make her win the contest, she was hurt. She was hurt that she did not earn the reward in the correct way, out of love & hence returned it back to her mami. Gopi could have kept back the Neek given by her mami & it would have given her the confidence of winning & showing Anitha that she was the right person who can be her Ahemji's wife. But she did not do so because as much as she loves her Ahemji, she will not ever deviate from her soul which belives in doing things the right way even when the situation is tough.
Even when her husband hated her the most, even then she still stood by her strength, her soul which follows her kanaji who tells her to do things always in the right way . When he hated her, she could have used different means to mask her shortcomings, but she did not. She was true to her husband to let him see her as who she was & what she was, even if it meant that he would hate her even more !!! And thats the reason, to till date she wears her pallu on her head being true to her soul, respecting her Ahemji !!!
In thinking about the contest, Gopi did not forget about her duties of the house. As much as she helped her mami, when she saw Baa's mala was broken when she had gone to give her chai, she immediately offered to help Baa string her mala back with the correct no. of beads. Baa did not talk about the gift neither did Gopi think about winning the contest & losing time. All she wanted to help her Baa, whom she loves dearly with whatever she could offer her as help. This is Gopi's strength, her love for family putting herself beyond her ownself, her own need to be there for them at the time of their need !!!
There is one person who knows her, this very quality of her's of being truthful even when situations go wrong. Even though the person was late in realising it, that person now knows her so deeply that he relates to her soul & heart. It is none other than her husband, her Ahemji. The day he stood up for her against the family to allow her continue for her education, he believed his mother's belief & whatever little he knew about her. But as he spent time with her, he undersood her innocent heart who always believes in serving others, being truthful even if it hurts hers & loving everyone unconditionally. These are the qualities which had attracted him to her & he gradually fell in love with her. Today he will never ever believe even if there is proof which shows she has done in contary to this. That is how much he trusts her & respects her for this !!!
This is Gopi's strength, to always stand for right things along with her trust & belief in her kanaji which she will never deviate from the right part even when it becomes impossible !!!
