if u see there are lots of talks on the orginal show too and there are groups on that me personlly a member of three ...point is on weekends its not hopping, there are updates on the show and also gossip on it,,...

the issue is the the way it is made out...

though I will not agree that if they switch it many will leave and that willbe sad

I have gotten to know many here and though there sentiments and I thing that has tobe accounted since these people got this place alive.

I was here when the place started and very active here though normally quiet since I try to respect all and there views

I respect u'rs too since u are valued here too...

Do not worry SHADYTOWN .... EMAET will become the FOCAL POINT of all the discussions once it reaches it's CLIMAX .. until then .... just be patient .... 😊

Personally, I dont feel that complaining about the deteriorating quality (again, IMHO) of the show should be a factor into who visits/avoids this forum. As you yourself said, its a public forum, and so there are bound to be people who love it and those who hate it.
I've had my share of being bashed too from those who called me "buddha" for supporting Debu and all sorts of names flung left right and center against me, other supporters and Debu, his wife, his dead mother. This is no reason to quit though. The right way is to stay and fight out for what you believe in...

I do agree about results being posted in the topic heading though. One person updating the results last week did have a warning but then another coolbie/viewbie actually posted it in the heading itself. Bhai, iska tou Mods hi kuch kar sakte hain... *sigh*


All said and done, I still hope you stay on and dont leave...

Thanks everyone for your responses and concern. Quite frankly, I'm overwhelmed by the response to this. I thought I would go quietly (like Lataji 😉 ) but it seems that's not going to happen.

Let me clarify a few points.

I have no problem with discussing old contestants or mentors or even the old show. It's all good to remember the good ol days. But I don't want it to get to the level where it overshadows EMET, which is really what this forum is about. When I check out the latest topics, I see about a dozen non-EMET related posts, and there, somewhere, hidden in the middle, I find an odd EMET post or two. By the end of the day, even that post disappears into the middle pages. In this way, with so much crowding from other posts, EMET is never going to get any attention, like Jaadugar said. I agree with him there - while non-EMET posts are okay, don't overcrowd it so much that EMET posts disappear from view. In that sense, maybe a separate forum for C2005 is not a bad idea.

As far as EMET bashing is concerned, I don't mind constructive criticism. I do some of that myself, if you read my posts. But what I've seen a lot here is just prejudiced bashing because you do not like the format and the dancing and the idea, or maybe because you're just comparing it to C2005 and it comes up short.

In that sense, you are behaving like Sharib when he was paired with Banjyotsna - all obstinate and refusing to accept. But even Sharib has accepted it now. He's realized that she is his partner, take it or leave it, and so he's decided to go with it. Similarly, EMET the show is here to stay, in the format and style that you've seen - take it or leave it. I agree you don't like it, you're angry with Gajji, you hate the judges, and what not else. But nothing can be done now. Please don't cry about it for ever and ever - please. It won't help. Try to look out for the positives - like I'm trying. And talk about their singing and performance on stage - not on the format of the show of what they are doing in the green room.

And no, I will not be leaving now - not after all of you sweetly asked me to stay back 😛. But I still stick to my stand on spoilers in heading. I don't like them 😡 . If they continue, then I will stop coming to the forum from the day the show is recorded to the day the video is posted (Monday to Thursday).

Good for you... Regardin the results, please talk to the Mods about it. They are only 3-4 members who regularly write updates from India. If they talk to those people, I'm sure the problem can be solved...

arre yaar, dont take it all so seriously. bahut rangeen forum hai. you get to have fun, express yourself when you want to, get to pick an intellectual quarrel or two with the guni-jan around, find ways to beat them with your wits on their own turf, learn to eat humble pie when your ego gets crushed, learn about the cronyism which drives certain pseudo-intellectual discussions, finesse your art in predicting how certain people will react, get to talk to hundreds of guys and gals all at once- aur kahaan yeh sab naseeb hota hai?

The updaters are not a problem. They never write spoilers in the heading. Their headers only read Update for so-and-so date.

It's just regular people who somehow get the news from some source or another (like online, or from a friend who went to the taping), and immediately blare it out in the heading as if they work for a News Channel and this is the biggest BREAKING NEWS in the last decade. 😕

And it's not the same person everytime. Those people differ from week to week, depending on who gets the news first.

I think Mods should add this as a warning in Sticky to prevent people from doing that. 😡

you have a good point. i know how angry i was when some @#$%^ posted the ending of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in a title in the HP forum 😡

A title with *Spoiler inside* is a better idea. That way people who want to know can see it and the others can avoid it.

Shady town..people like me (Atleast me) Donot see any problem in that though. I am mostly woking and get hardly any time for TV so i come here and read updates..if interesting..i watch episode too. May be they should have proper heading so that those who do not want the updates before hand...will avoid those posts. Those updates helped me atleast in Saregama as i was mentally prepared knowing that this person is leaving. WOuld have been very hard to see your fav go otherwise spoiling your whole mood. Not sure if others felt it too. So i guess we have both kind like me who like to see updates and but i do undersstand that some of us do not like to see updtaes before hand. My own daughter forbids me to tell her result.
Hopefully some chnages in format might help both type of people
