One more suggestion for SRGMP 2006:
Include a round in which the singers will actually sing as playback singers while showing the actual actors/actresses on the screen (eg. singing for a Shahrukh khan starring song).
This will give a much better idea to the people regarding the suitability of the singer's voice to playback singing.

Fantastic idea...The importance of singer's voice should become crystal clear if your idea is implemented (by the way, did they have something like that in the old SRGM format? don't remember) 👍🏼

There was such a round in one of the earlier SRGMs. It only helps to the extent of knowing whether a participant's voice suits a particular actor or not, but doesn't help in evaluating a voice as such. Suppose Hema's voice is imposed over Amitabh Bachchan and found not to suit AB, does it mean Hema would lose points?

Also, attention would shift from the contestant to the visual, which makes evaluation a little difficult, I think.

I agree with the change needed in the SRGMP format.

People may disagree with what I have to say - but from observing the show it appears that it is so regionalized and has turned out to be a popularity contest rather than a talent show. Not that Debo deserved to win - he was fantastic - I am sorry Vinit fans - in my mind I thought that Hemachandra and Nihira/Himani were the best.
But the people have voiced their opinion and it should be respected.

I was kind of shocked to see that there were only 21 or so lakh votes from the South - cmon we can do much better than that - are we not one country.

Anyway as mentioned the format has to definitely change and should be more objective than subjecftive.
