know seema, when Debo sang Aae mere pyare watan... i was just spell bound. it is my favourite song and the first thing i do on republic day is to sing that song loud wherever I am. I am proud to be Indian, but when i see people breaking nation into regions, it hurts a lot.

hey all , i am delighted to see a topic dedicated to supporting debu, there have probably been better singers than him in the past , but he is deifinately a hell lot batter than VINIT!! 😡 .
as of right now , between vinit and debu i would definately want debu to win and there are various reasons for it.

as a debo fan, count me in any time...

Reasons for appreciating debo:

1. Most soothing voice (Hemu's voice was unique and powerful, true - but debo's voice has that touch of elegant tenderness that is hard to beat).

2. Versatility - In agnipariksha, he sang songs out of his usual genre (soft romantic numbers) and outclassed most other contestants in that respect (only Hemu and Nihira achieved a similar feat)

3. Superb personality and attitude - The only contestant to maintain his cool and forgiving attitude after facing unfair treatments one after after another -from 'mentors', rude sector of the audience (might have guessed who I implying, etc.), walkout of fellow contestants...

Note: I used the word mentor in quotes since mentor implies someone who leads by example in both talent and behavior. HR and definitely AS did not fit that category (at least not in SRGMP 2005). So in other words, debo had to stand up against mob-minded people hiding behind a veil of mentor's title.

hey i agree with all our points you hit the nail RIGHT on the head😊

i have really given up on the so-called "mentors". earlier i used to like debo's singing but thought he would only suit in soft romantic numbers, but after hear dholi taro and the stylish "oh humdum suniyo re" i must say i am really bowled over!😃

u know what i thought was very cute? it was the AV where debo gets the chumma award, and he keeps saying "ismail sir" in that cute way😛and hey before i forget...welcome to the thread🤗
