Anil Biswas said that because Lata was around at that time, the music directors were able to explore ranges that normally they would not have been able to. What a compliment!!

Thank you for the wonderful post.

I read in online once that Ae mere watan ke logon was actually offered to Asha Bhosle first and she even rehearsed the song but did not end up singing it due to some problems. Can anybody confirm or refute this?

Ruby can you please do a similar post on Asha Bhosle.

Thanks

ya,it's right,Ashaji is also a gr8 singer, even if her voice is not so sweet as Lataji but technically she's very sound and versatile.I'll surely post about her.

Lataji has done stage shows from her very childhood, she sang first when she was 3yrs old and she came into proper playback singing at the age of 13 only.😊

Thanks Sir,She's a true legend and we all should be proud that she's with us,she's the greatest live inspiration for all the singers, frm my childhood i always tried to sing her songs,i have one habit that i'll first try the thing which is the toughest,in studies too i memorised hard words in Eng first. So,even if my mother used to tell me that's too hard for u,u r small now, when u'll be a little elder try that, but i didn't listen,I always used to like the semi-classical songs, that is how my father decided to give me classical training.

So,90% of the music i know is because of listening to Lataji only.

I just love her.Sir i m much younger than u,plz call me ruby only.😊

Thank you very much for posting this Rubyji! When examining music, it is impossible to talk about the queen of melody, the nightngale of India, and institution of sangeet herself, Lataji!

yes, there have been rumors around it, but both lata mangeshkar and asha bhosle have separately refuted them.
