Just thought we would start talking about our favourite songs for a change and forget the contestants.

My favourite is

ho raama re ho raama!
Doli me.n biTHaai ke kahaar
laa'e mohe sanjana ke dwaar

I would say its the best of the century in terms of Lyrics, Music and the Artist. RDB himself sang the song with so much feel that even a hard rock will definitely cry....

Please add to the list.. so we end up with the best of RDB in this thread.

Like adwarkanathji, my favorite soundtrack is definitely Kati Patang. Other favorites with some special value to me are Yaadon Ki Baraat and Hum Kisise Kum Nahin.

Other favorite Panchamda films are Dharam Karam, Sholay, Kasme Vaaden, Shaan, Rahi Badal Gaye, Sagar, and the title song of the film "Aaja Meri Jaan" which Vishwas sang in the 2nd charan. If you listen to that song, you will hear one of the antaras having the same tune as the interlude in the song "Chehra Hai Ya Chand Khila Hai" in the film "Sagar."

Also, I like the song "Ei Sakhi Radhike Bawari Ho Gayi" from Jurmana.

All the songs of Chote Nawaab are out of this world specially "Ghar Aaja" that Ujjaini sang on Challenge 2005. I think "Raina Beeti Jaaye" is also on the same Raag. Both are beautiful compositions of RD's and Lata M. outdid herslf in each number.

Papa Burnman had so many hits, but the one that sticks in my mind as an all time classic number is "Saach Hueye Saapne Tere" from Kaala Baazar. Asha B. sang it for Waheeda Rehman and to this day each time I hear it I think it is Waheeda singing for herself.

Oh where, oh where have such composers gone?

I was just listening to all the songs on my ipod (new and old), and the
same thought struck me. I was listening to 'Ishq Samunder' , and right
after it came on 'Piya Bawri' by Asha Bhosle (from the old Rekha-wala
'Khubsoorat). Not that I don't enjoy Ishq Samunder but The difference in
quality is so great.

Really, ID is right - half these songs today are train-wala numbers...
(except the kind of stuff HR makes, which is mostly platform-wala stuff).
Hope more people make raag-based melodies and innovative music...

I'm not saying stay purely classical or don't put modern touches. Just -
make great music - stretch yourselves. Don't be *content* with throwing
a little rap in - some oohs and aahs! Make something of this stuff!! Look
at the way RDB innovated with electronic music ...

Man, its really hard to come up with just one song. Of the cuff, however, I probably would have to go with "Raina beeti jaaiye", "Kya jaanu sajan", "O Hansini, kahan ud chali". Man, I didn't have to go for dinner, I probably would have keyed in 47 more "most favorite" songs :)
One thing, how could no one have mentioned Namak-haraam in one of his greater albums 😭
