Shalini is not bad but I think she can sing better if trained

I had issues with both Shalini and Antara's song choices this week. I started singing along, and then I stopped when I realized the line was, "I am craving for you body now." It's just wrong hearing that out of an 8-year-old's mouth. It just makes me uncomfortable, but I didn't want to base their singing off of that. Antara just didn't have the right emotion in her song and it was just awkward the whole way through. Shalini and Antara have similar voices, but Shalini has stage presence. I don't think either of their voices are suited for the type of songs Shalini sings.

What I found ridiculous was, yes, Yatharth was a little bit over-confident in his song (even though Abhijeet was just referring to a specific texture he added in a certain part which just came out wrong for the song), but I was suprised that it was he that was shouted at for it over people like Shalini that have been over-confident since the one song at the audition, which honestly, wasn't that great. I mean, I'm not saying she's bad, but she is waaay too over-hyped and should have been eliminated by now.

I mean, if she's that concerned about her performance, she should see what Swarit does. He dances along with his songs and doesn't make it seem...cheap.

Btw, someone mentioned her dieting...dieting will make you sound worse...that and cold foods. When you're hungry and you sing, it makes you sound bad.

Also, I think her song this week was one of her better performances, even though everyone said she had too much emotion.

And I blame song choice solely on her. She's been singing these type of songs from day one, and it was up to her to pick a different song.

For make up, and what-not. I don't really care. It doesn't have anything to do with her singing...or lack thereof.

She is extraordinarily precocious for an 8-year old, whereas I could believe that she is 9 going on 10, like Antara. Quite possibly her parents have fibbed about her age (this is not rare among Bengalis, btw.) Even so, she is too young for this show, like Swarit and Antara.
