I am not saying I will change my style of singing for them. But the style of music, style of instruments which are used and played today actually sounds good. I don't want to become like today's singers who actually don't know how to sing. I am just saying that I like the beats of the drums. Otherwise contemporary music is dhin chak, dhin chak. It is almost like a remix, with less sur and taal.
lol who was he reffering to?😆

So which singer can't sing?

Many are there, almost all. I don't want to name someone and make a controversy. Everyone knows who all cannot sing.
for e.g Atif Aslam😆

Ok. Who has been your inspiration?

Mehendi Hasan and Mohammed Rafi Saab.

If not a singer, what would you have been?

I would have been a dhobi because I love to press (iron) my clothes and I also have a factory that manufactures such machinery.
galti se mistake hogaya🤣

When was your first stage performance?

I was in class 3 and I sung a ghazal and won the first prize.

After the terrorist attack in Bombay, how should Bollywood treat Pakistani singers since the terrorists were trained across the border?

Bollywood should ban them. That's all. It is as simple as washing your hands after using the toilet. India should ban or cut all relationships with Pakistan as soon as possible. Some Pakistanis come with weapons comes to India on one hand, to earn money and fame and on the other hand with In hand with weapons and some of them come to make money and become famous. Ek taraf zakham dete hai, dusri ore marham lagate hai. They come to India earn money and don't even pay tax to our country. Then what's the point of giving them a platform here?
gosh thts so damn rude!

But Pakistani singers are said to be very good.
Hahaha! I should tell you that shouting loudly does not make anyone a singer. Every one is not Mehendi Hasanji. There is another very popular singer whose name I can't remember figure if it is girl or a guy singing. 😆he must be talking about Atif Aslam😆
There are so many good singers in India so why bring them from Pakistan? Getting 'imported product' is the fashion in India, because singing talent from Pakistan is imported. No need to give them a place to stay or chance to stay because they don't even pay taxes. India is calling people from Pakistan that's why they are killing us. History stands testimony to the fact that of Indians welcomed the British to India and then hey ruled us for 200 years. So why are you allowing any Pakistanis to enter India? Government should strictly end all relations with Pakistan and Bollywood should boycott Pakistani artists.

Which Pakistani singer are you pointing to? Is it Adnan Sami?

No, no woh toh galti se singer ban gaya. He had come here to become an actor and by mistake he became a singer. He can't even sing. People like him should be sent back to Pakistan to work there because they make money in India and send it to Pakistan.

omg!😲Adnan sami happen to be one of the great musicains and equally good singer he has a unique voice, love his compositions and musik!
I never thought tht a legend could be so rud,Actually it's our fault we expect Great things who we consider GREAT since they prove to be great in their field BUT their SO CALLED greatness leaves us shocked wen we see them saying such things!
Honestly i find nothing wrong in Jagjit singh's anger since he loves his country and he has a right to react but accusing abd blaming others n tht also to those who are also victimsed by the same situation and living it through every day is wrong!
He shudnt have replied so harshly😳

good answer Piya 😆....jagjit singh's condition is more like Abhijit ....u r losing out on the new comers ..losing ur melody... and ur insecurity shows....i found this same song of jagjit ji ..one was original and the other a part of his recent album ....u can clearly see how he lost that melodious touch and sweetness ...hence it is reflected in his comments too 😉.....it's one thing talking about giving more oppurtunities to the Indian singers ..and it is something else to recognise only mehdi hasaan saab and neglect all other legendary ghazal singers of Pakistan who he himself learnt a lot from ......
and saying none of the present singers know anything about singing😲 ..... talk about arrogance ....this is not at all a sign of true artist ....well i have noticed for a long time Jagjit singh having this khichi huin spinster type attitude ....at the same time when he comes to these reality shows he is full of praise of our youngsters and how well they r groomed in singing !!!!!!!!!.....talk about being 2 faced
I love some of his old ghazals ...here is one of them ....because he has that melodious sweet touch and perfect pitching .......

I prefer when he opens his mouth only to sing. 😕 Remember that ARR topic?😕

but the taxes issue is true...if only he said it in a nicer way. for example, Sonu said in an interview something like: "I don't mind Pakistani singers coming to India, it's a free world, but they should pay the taxes we have to pay."

and lastly....about Adnan Sami. give me a break! that guy is an amazing musician. 😕

I like Jagjeet singh- he is one of my favs. We all have our likes n dislikes n he is expressing his i.e. he doesn't like todays singing, guess that has nothing to do with his own insecurities, why people like him feel insecure is beyond my understanding.

As far as his remarks abt Pakistan goes this seems like an old interview when the talks were going on about breaking all ties including cultural with pakistan after Mumbai attacks.

yes Jagjit has some pretty good songs too.
As for comments sometimes they are quoted out of context and
I am sure he has no hatred in his heart.😊
