a career oriented, independent women with good heart.

Nowadays, audiences like to wach nok jhok between leads and light hearted fun filled stories,
love story mixed up with family drama always prefers TRP audience.

both leads should be equal in nok jhok scenes,i still like the show Kudump; Hiten-Gauri were epic and both of them fighting with equal intensity and are egoistic and having same attitude.
but that is something missing in recent shows.
it is always hero leads and heroine lags behind and the sterotypic portyal of showing heroine submissive and always thinks straight and doing only good things .i think it needs to be changed.

heroine also has to do things which she thinks right and it doesn't mean that negative shade, but if she suffers something she has to repay with same intensity and same manner.

i think Sanaya can pull off such character nicely.

Agree would like see Sanaya in career oriented independent strong woman role. 😊
yeah she is dreamy and fab in romantic roles nok jhok but i do not like her getting shouted at by the hero in a really bad manner. I could never tolerate any guy speaking to me in anger, temper (even if its my husband) so i do not want the same for Sanny too. I get very hurt when she is treated unfairly
😡
even now as i watch RR repeats i get so upset when Rudra speaks to her in such a demeaning manner in several episodes. though i understand its part of the story etc i am unable to take that kind of talking in my stride

I wonder sometimes - as i hv read that metro cities in India contribute the to the TRPs. 930 pm working women in India watch the shows may be they felt the hero was jus yelling too much at the lady...hence may did not follow it regularly leading to low TRPS...not sure often felt as this being an aspect

all things aside, nothing to watch on TV thank God the new English shows are back after nearly 10 months and i am saved.

Sanny should come back with a top notch show that will firmly entrench her in the anals of Indian TV

@red : Agreed - I wish they could strike the balance of Kutumb - the one story of hers Ekta never destroyed. My own fav show after IPK.
I think these days they can't pull off a Gauri without making her look selfish and stuck up because she always made Pratham's massive inflated ego look like an ant in front of an elephant!!! Which is something these days heroins don't have at all.. Her self respect meant everythinng to her - and u felt the blow when only once in her life she had to bow her head for the sake of her family. But she made him pay for all of it after that!
but if anyone can do it right Sanaya certainly can cz Sanaya is a better actress than Gauri (No offense meant - i am one of the biggest GT fans around the world for the past 12yrs. But this is something I believe after watching every single show of both the actresses I have compared here as they both happen to be my own 2 all time fav actresses)...

but then Pratham was a playboy and a complete loafer (a very rich one of course - the bane of his father's life!) but was pretty harmless though he was seriously nasty in some things simply cz of his sheer stubbornness and ego and short term thinking!...And TV doesn't have such guys now either - its now restricted to angry young man or spineless mummy's boys.. that is why he needed Gauri so she could help him grow up and be a responsible man from a irresponsible brat.. eventhough Gauri was the younger one..
And he made her learn to be a bit less egoistic.. :p

writing needs to change.. cz I think a show like Kutumb has the potential to work even today. Because I remember its 3rd time repeat airing also fetched impressive numbers on TV.. And that is very very rare, if not the only case.

And the number of slaps those two exchanged in those 150 episodes on screen would make TRP unties faint now a days! 😆 But that was the beauty of the writing as no matter even if they resorted to being physical it was completely balanced..
If pratham slapped Gauri would slap twice! And of course the other one would get back at her then.. And through all this they managed to make it a complete laugh too because these 2 were so so petty and egoistic that one who watched would shake the head in sheer exasperation at their bullheadedness and still try to bite the lip to stop smiling too...

wrote a lot on this - but just wanted to tell why its different from the shows that r on air these days.. and why I agree that such a character/show would be awesome as Sanaya's next.. as its something she has not yet done and is possible to be shown within the constraints that govern TV..

Yup he tried!
But the amazing thing was the way it was handled!

His aunts asked her abt why the delay for a baby (there were no wicked witches in the family, they only lovingly asked - which was another amazing thing abt Kutumb as there were no badies inside the family and it was just so so lovable!) - and Gauri pretty much hinted at his manhood so to speak - and when the well intended probing abt going to a specialist doctor that the aunts said got him to realize what she has done!
And Pratham being Pratham - pretty much said that she hinted at his manhood and he will show her exactly that and tumbled her on the bed - BUT when Gauri pushed him away after a little while he was shaken and he left immediately and he needed no prompting from anyone to loath himself for even trying to do what he did
and he came back immediately to apologize and for the first time Gauri breaks and cries telling she needs her mom.. which is the turning point of their story.. from which point he seeks her forgiveness and Gauri punishing him...
And the moment when his own mother gets to know from Gauri what he tried to do and how his mom dealt with it.. i just loved watching that track!

That was what was different in that story - they so so beautifully handled almost every situation..
It was petty, childish, brattish and the biggest battle of egos I have watched on Indian TV. Yet they made it beautiful and a sheer delight...

It was very different cz at the end of the show - they made Pratham grow up from a brat to a responsible man, but Gauri didn't change that much as there wasn't much that needed changing... except her acquiring a certain feminine softness and learning to be less rigid and stubborn which she lacked at the beginning..

Their journey was quite unique on TV for me actually.. cz from the second he married her he gave her the upper hand.. she fought and won more battles while he lost most..
And he was funny, easy going, happy go lucky.. - which are extinct traits of men on TV now a days..

btw - no separate beds either - neither was ready to give up their share of the bed! all in all a totally different combination if u see it..
