Yes i Agree the could have been more finesse in Vande Mataram part of the episode. But Rudra is a patriotic Indian soldier and it was done to bring that side of Rudra to light.

Yes, but the think about it, what motivates an aam soldier in the battlefield to lay down his life to keep other people safe - certainly not his miserly wages.

I personally prefer subtlety and the emotional quotient over the melodrama and jingoism ...and get what you are trying to say...

If you read my post, I was talking of the MANNER of portrayal, not the content that was portrayed per se. Patriotism need not be ridiculed by harking back to the 80's-style chest-thumping Gadar brand of it.
