If the mother had been shown giving this reactions say a day later once the initial shock had worn off then I'd say the whole scene was inappropriate but at this point this woman is in the early stages of grief and isn't being allowed to see her son's body and this was her way of handling it. I'm not saying it was right but there can't be a code of behaviour attached to any parent when they actually lose a child no matter how much they should have been prepared for the possibility. I guess in that scene I just saw a grief stricken mother and at that point it didn't seem to matter whether her child signed up for this or not.

see i am not saying mothers out burst is wrong... when a mother sent his son to battlefield that itself show how much courageous the woman is to send off his son to fight keeping his life in danger...
they wonot keep hopes until their son comes back from the battlefield that is known fact as anything can happen there

when she comes to know about his sons death, she may react but not like what writers showed yesterday... how can she blame his son's senior management for sending her son to the battlefield... it is straight away insult and mocking of the courageous women who send their sons to battlefield

Exactly my point!
Army men take pride in taking the bullet meant for someone else on their chest. The guy died such a valiant death and his mom ruined it all by blaming Rudra for it, as if he was the one who started the whole fiasco.

Such are the people I wish should die at the hands of the terrorists and their weapons who have least respect for what the country gained by a life lost.

P.S. Sorry I was a bit rude in the last line but that's my personal honest opinion

the question is if she is in her senses... she had just lost he child... for humanity's sake... she is not supposed to behave normal... she had lost the son she had carried in her womb for 9 months, a son whom she had taught how to walk and talk... how do you expect her to be in position of understnding anything? why will she mock a woman who is the reflection of her own-self, why will she mock a lady who has send her son to serve for the country just like her... she is in trauma! not everyone is strong... she is not as strong to accept the fact that her is no more... so? she is a human... she had sent her son to army, that doesn't mean she had abandoned all her emotions!

i also found it pretty offensive that they did it!

mother breaking down n crying is fine! but slapping Rudra and cursing him for getting the son 'killed'? way too much..

it was done so that audience will feel more for Rudra AND to make Rudra mad enough to take it out on Paro and hurt her more than he would have otherwise..

Totally dramatized it where the sequence could have shown so much more sensitivity and pride of the mother of the dead soldier!

I knew many families who were proud to say they gave a son who died for our country! who still raise their heads n walk proudly when they remember him instead of crying!
yaha toh just to show Rudra's turmoil they crossed a line 🥱

I know I know... the topic heading sounds pretty rude and kind of off-kilter, but hear me out!
So, the entire scene between shaheed Vikram Singh's mother and our very own heroic Rudra was excruciatingly OTT! Why in the world would she blame Rudra for taking her son to battle? Isn't that part of the job description of a soldier!!! They should have read that BSD contract upon enlistment, or even watched Border or some other patriotic movie about the armed forces to figure out what the job entails! Like seriously?! If we're gonna start the blame game, I want to blame some people too - Vikram's father and her for letting him become a soldier in the first place!!!! I really wonder what they thought when they sent their son to join the armed forces 😕
I might have even felt more sympathetic, until she slapped our poor hero who already was covered in bruises and cuts! And then proceeded to hit the only hole in his armor - his mother! This lady must have some psychic powers to know exactly what to say to get the most reaction and get the torrent of guilt and anguish pouring out from our hero...
But what annoyed me the most was how long she kept harping on him! Like let the guy go to his Paro and canoodle with her (I pretended the fancy mirror wasn't there 😉). And let us, the action starved audience, see the two lovers in the same shot! Why you gotta be such a kabab mein haddi? SMH!
I honestly thought it was such a pointlessly drawn out scene! Poor guy felt bad and guilty enough without sakshaat Ms. Guilt Trip coming to further push him over the edge! What did you guys think about the scene? 🤔

Sorry... rant over! On a totally unrelated and much more important note, the chest hair They looked so fine and soft... I wonder if woh bhi champi ka kamaal hai 🤣

That bit was overdone. I know people do different things to deal with grief, but no one slaps an armyman's boss like this.

^^^ agreed! The dialogues, the slap, the entire acting from the mother was too much! Like the whole your "mom won't even spit on your grave"... who says that?! 👎🏼

res haha i will read n come back :p
Ok read!! 😆 Gunia i totally agree i am actually kinda pissed off too! cz it was offensive to the mothers of soldiers who proudly claim that they gave a son to the country!!

lol anywya they did it so that Rudra will go all hanky panky instead being the macho hero he was throughout otherwise n we will feel sorry for him too! n also to make him mad enough to take all of it out on Paro!!

Mother crying is totally ok! But blaming his senior officer for allowing her son to do the job he signed up for? very bad!! 😕

so yah it was way OTT! i wish that sequence could have been given a miss!!

Even I felt that scene was totally OTT! Was there a need for that scene? I mean I know you have lost your son but lady he was a soldier! He sacrificed his life for his country! As u pointed out why the hell did she allow him to join the army after all! Giving baddua n all!
@ last line 🤣 somebody will have to tweet Ashish again.
