A messenger gives the news of Laxman falling unconscious to Ram. Ram is shocked and furious.Ram - What? How can it happen that the mighty Laxman was defeated? What do those boys want?
Messenger - Maharaj, they want war with you.
Ayodhya people are talking talk about the war.
Ram is ready for the war. But Bharat (earlier I had written Shatrughan), Sugriv and Hanuman want to go for war.
Shatrughan - Bhaiya, you are going for war? When I am here, then why do you need to go? Order us to go on war. We will give them such a punishment that they will not dare cross their limits again.
Sugriv - Maharaj, allow me. I will give them a severe punishment.
Ram - No Sugriv ji. They are not ordinary boys. It is not easy to defeat Shatrughan and Laxman. So long I was forgiving them treating them as kids. But now I must punish them for having obstructed the ashwamedh yagna.
Vashishth - Ram, this is not in accordance with scriptures if you leave the yagna incomplete and go. You may go only after completing the yagna. Otherwise the yagna will be incomplete.
Ram - If the horse does not return, then that is also worrisome.
Hanuman - Prabhu, leave this worry on us. We will bring the horse.
Ram allows all of them to go. Vashishth blesses them.
Ram is talking to Sita's statue.
Ram - Sita, I wanted to do this yagna for peace and prosperity. But these two boys have worried me. Do not know what is going on.
Kaushalya - Ram, who are these boys who cannot be defeated by your army?
Ram - Even I do not understand Ma how these boys can be so brave.
Kaushalya - They defeated not only our army but also my two sons. But they did not harm anybody, did not kill anybody. They made Laxman and Shatrughan only unconscious.
Ram - Even I cannot understand what exactly they want.
Kaushalya - I have heard that they want to meet you. If so, then why don't you meet them?
Ram - Ma, I am helpless. Gurudev has asked me not to go on war leaving the yagna. He says that it will not be in accordance with shastras.
Kaushalya - Ram, I feel that those boys are also acting as per dharma. It should not happen that their side finally overcomes us.
Kaushalya goes.
Ram (to the statue) - You tell me Sita what to do.
In Valmiki ashram
Sita thinks - Why do I feel that Raghunandan is remembering me? Is he in some trouble?
Nani ma - Why do you look worried?
Sita - My mind is restless.
Nani ma - Focus your mind. In any ritual, mind often becomes restless.
Sita - I do not see Luv and Kush. Today is the last day of the ritual and they had to bring the lotus flower.
Nani Ma - They must be coming soon. They never forget their duty. They must be knowing that they have to bring 1000-petaled lotus.
Luv - Bhaiya, why has Ramji not come here? How long will we wait for him?
Kush - Do not know why he is not coming. Others are coming in his place.
Luv - We have to unnecessarily fight with others. Doesn't he know that we have defeated his warriors?
Kush - He must have got the news. May be he is busy readying the army.
Luv - Yes that must be the reason. Gurudev must be worried. What if somebody suspects us?
Kush - Ma will be very angry.
Luv - But Ma is in puja. How will she suspect us?
Kush - Today is the last day of Ma's puja and we have to give her the lotus flower. You give her the flower and come back.
Luv - No bhaiya. Ramji will come with his army. How will you fight with them alone? I cannot leave you alone.
Kush - Ok I will go. Take care of the horse. If Sri Ram comes then stop him. I will be back soon.
(So Luv can be alone?)
Kush goes to Sita with the flower.
Sita - Did you face any problem?
Kush - No problem Ma. We had to go far, that is why we got delayed.
Sita - Where is Luv?
Kush hesitates - He is playing.
Sita - Is this time to play?
Kush - He got something to play with.
Sita - Ok you sit in the puja.
Kush - Ma, Luv will come only after I go.
Sita - This means you have told him that you will also play.
Kush - There is nothing like that.
Sita - Then he will come on his own. You sit in the puja.
Now Kush has no choice but to sit in the puja. Sita, nani ma and Kush are in the puja. Rishi Bhardwaj is the priest.
From the top of a tree, Luv notices the huge army of Ayodhya. He thinks that Ram is coming with his army. He is wondering how to call Kush.
Kush is not at all interested in the puja. He somehow secretly leaves the puja and goes to Luv. (So he left the puja in the middle?😕)
Ayodhya's army comes near the horse.
Bharat - Nobody is here.
Sugriv - Our soldiers were saying that they are not ready to leave the horse.
Hanuman - Where have they gone leaving the horse?
Bharat - They are not here. This means that they have accepted defeat.
On Bharat's order some soldiers move ahead to bring the horse. Luv's arrows stop them.
Bharat - So you are the one. Where is your brother?
Kush comes ahead.
Kush (to Hanuman) - So you are also here.
Luv - You never said anything about you but we know that you are Sri Ram's devotee.
Hanuman - You are right.
Kush - Who is Sri Ram here.
Hanuman - What is the hurry to meet Sri Ram? First let me introduce you to them. He is Kiskindha's king Maharaj Sugriv. He is Maharaj Bharat, the younger brother of my lord Sri Ram. (How did Bharat become Maharaj? Is this because he was king of Ayodhya in the absence of Ram?)
Luv and Kush greet Bharat. Bharat blesses them by raising his hand.
Luv - We have already said that we will not release the horse unless Sri Ram himself meets us.
Bharat - I am Sri Ram bhaiya's representative. Give me the message. I will give the message to him.
Kush - We will talk only to Sri Ram.
Luv - If you cannot bring him to us, then be ready to face our arrows.
Bharat - It is not good to be so proud of your strength. Return the horse to us.
Kush - Only Sri Ram can take this horse from us. Whoever tries to touch it will meet the same fate as Maharaj Shatrughan and Laxman.
Sugriv - Evil boys, I will show you how I get the horse. (To Bharat)Kaikeyi nandan, allow me. I will give these boys such a punishment that they will not dare do any such act in future.
Sugriv comes down his chariot and moves towards the horse. Luv and Kush are ready with their bows and arrows.

Ram - Ma, Raghuvanshis do not know defeat. Enemy is enemy - whether he is a boy or a youth. Give me your blessings. I will return with the horse.
