Coming to the second one, song in the title is so apt. The emotional (physical this time as well) intimacy was endearing to visualise. Dialogues took the cake in this one specially last one♥️. It would've been better if you would've had added some more figments of light hearted, funny, Zoya teasing Asad while viewing the album. Overall it was a really nice update. Lots of love 💕♥️

Depicted the true impact of Asad's past actions and harsh words he said unlike, so unlike the show 🤐 The to be husband list was what any normal woman would want (including me hehe)

Thank youuuu my love smiley27 Lol my husband list too (fingers crossed) Updating final chapter

Final chapter

“ Bana Dil Sufi ”

She shoved the darkened brown flakes off her hand and hoped they wouldn’t stain her clothes.

Why was this so hard?

She attempted again.

Slide, slide, slide and pick. Damn it!

The glass from her hand slipped yet again.

What does a girl have to do around here to drink some water.

“May I?” a familiar voice chimed in.

A blush creeped up on her cheeks as she saw his hand take the glass of water she was struggling with.

He lifted it up to her lips, gently. The ruckus of people in the hall came to a hush as the couple disappeared in a land of their own.

Not taking eyes off each other, Asad repeated the steps twice.

When a drop of water refused to budge from her full bottom lip, he took her dupatta and wiped it off. He was too scared to use his finger to wipe it. He wanted to use his finger to wipe it. To touch. To graze. Experience the softness of her lips under his skin.

He cleared his throat to come out of the daydream and forced himself to concentrate. "Kuch khane ke liye lau aapke liye?"

"Huh" was her dumbfounded response.

"Kuch khana chahti hain?"

“It...it's okay" she managed to say. Her lip still burned where his touch had been. Her sinful mind wandered to think what effect his hands would have on other areas. Skin to skin.

A kneeling Asad looked at her reddening cheeks curiously. She gave him a bashful smile.

"Bhaijaan, paani pae kyun ruk gaye, ye lijiye hamari Zoya bhabhi ko apne hathon se khana bhi khilaiye na" Zoya looked at him; horrified for him.

Najma and her butterfly girlfriends hadn't left him alone for a second today, hellbent on teasing mercilessly.

"Tamatar" Asad said stern, well he tried but couldn't keep the smile out of his voice. How could he? When he was so deliriously happy.

Zoya hadn't said much returning last night but her silence said it all. She had given him her hand to hold on the way home and he had taken it and placed their intertwined hands on his chest.

"Seriously, Miss Faaroqui, do you want to eat something? You haven't had anything to eat after breakfast." Asad spoke now, gazing in concern at her. She smiled at his face lovingly. To be honest, she was kinda hungry. And pleased now to know that he paid such close attention to her.

"Allah Miyan, what's wrong with you Mr. Khan? Even if I am, do you think these little devils would let us eat in peace. Mujhe to koi problem nahi hai. Aap hi sharmaate firenge." He narrowed his eyes at her playfully and she giggled. They both looked at their families dancing, laughing, stuffing mithai in each other's faces on the dance floor. His heart was molten honey today. Seeing Ammi, Najma, Aapi and Jeeju being their own self, enjoying the rasams.

“Terrace” he whispered to her as he got up and took a plate of food with him on his way. When he looked back to see if she was following, he saw her signalling to the right. He slowly followed the direction her chin was pointing to, and a dimple immediately made an appearance on his face.

She was pointing towards the pakoras.

He meshed his lips together to stop him from snickering and made his way to the fried goods section to load up on pakoras, samosas, jalebis, not leaving a single item. Dilshad saw Asad with the carb loaded plate and instinctively knew it was for her bahu. She sent a prayer for the thousandth time to her God for taking over their buri nazars.

🌼🌼🌼

It was a night kissed by the clouds and the wind. As she reached the top of the decked terrace, Asad turned around at the sound of her arrival.

"Hey" she said tentatively.

"Hey" he replied.

He walked towards the mini mattresses strewn with colorful cushions that were decoratively placed around the roof for guests. The party was originally supposed to be held here but ever since the grey clouds had made an appearance, it was decided otherwise. Zoya sat down, her white anarkali fanning out in all directions.

Thank God, the auntyji had removed the henna from her feet. She couldn't take it any longer.

Without a word, Asad placed himself opposite her, appreciating her figure in his gift, placing the plate in center. He made a clean bite and offered it to her, raising his hand to her lips. Zoya shyly accepted.

Thank God, the auntyji hadn't removed the henna from her hands.

The food was finished in peace and quiet. Zoya would signal him to make a bite for himself in between feeding her. None of them had an idea that the act of eating could be sensual. She never wanted it to be over. Well, technically they didn't have to, but they would both have trouble fitting into their wedding clothes tomorrow.

Tomorrow, she whispered.

"Tomorrow?" Asad repeated.

"We're getting married tomorrow" it wasn't a question, just a fact stated in awe.

“Yes, we are” he said brushing his knuckles on the side of her face. Her skin heated under his touch, and she was grateful they were alone. After his proclaimant that she give him her future, she had found herself short of words and breath, so she’d simply rested her forehead against his in an attempt to deliver the answer.

"Shukriya" she told him now. He accepted her thank you with a smile.

"For the dinner yes, but I was also thanking you for something else" Zoya responded.

His brows furrowed. "Thank you for allowing me to see you so I could welcome you into my life."

How did he get so lucky, he will never fathom.

He grew quiet in thought for a couple moments.

“Arz kiya hai” he said lovingly. Gentle.

Her eyes widened. He hid the smile and continued;

“ Fasle bahut hain, ton manzilen bhi,

Fasle bahut hain, ton manzilen bhi,

Aapke liye, gar chaand zameen par lae ayein

Toh kam hai vo bhi”

Only air came out when she opened her mouth to say her waah waah.

How did she get so lucky, she will never fathom

She didn't understand what came onto her as she hugged him aggressively on an impulse and he fell onto the mattress taking her on top.

When she raised her head to look into his darkened drugged eyes, a wave of nervous laughter took over her at her stupidity.

Asad didn’t smile.

His face was controlled and hard, eyes filled with unquestionable emotion and fingers digging into her waist.

He touched his forehead with hers and took three deep breaths. Then, he gently sat her up and settled them into a comfortable position, with him sitting upright and Zoya in his lap.

She held onto his sherwani’s collar with all her might in hopes it would control her senses.

She saw in his eyes what she felt inside her. Pulsating need. She inhaled him in, and he smelled like thunderstorms and rain.

Their wedding couldn’t come sooner all of a sudden.

“Aap thik hain?” Asad asked a little out of breath.

“Jee”

“Asad? ... Ya Allah!”

Their eyes widened instinctively, then shut down embarrassed.

“Maine kuch nai dekha” Dilshad muttered turning away, covering her eyes with her dupatta. “Main ton bas bahu ko laine ai thi, mehendi utarne ke liye.”

“Jee Ammi” Asad hurried to stand them up “Aap chaliye bas hum a rahein hain”

Dilshad looked back at the couple, faces red, and cocked an eyebrow “Abhi aur waqt chahiye?”

“Chaliye na phuphi, chaliye na” Zoya almost leaped across the roof, moving with purpose dragging Dilshad with her.

Asad heard roaring laughter from the stairs seconds later.

🌼🌼🌼

Happiness rolled off the walls for rest of the night, while the couple sat in their own beds, sleep nowhere to be found. Zoya was brought back to her rightful place and the hotel had been abandoned by the family.

“I can’t wait for you to be my bhabhi” Najma squeaked.

“I can’t wait to be your bhabhi” Zoya winked, and they burst out in giggles.

“Mujhe yakeen hai, Asad bhaijaan toh kal bhabhi se bhi zyada sharmayenge” Humaira chimed in excitedly.

Ayaan had gathered the whole toli – Nikhat, Nuzhat, Humaira and himself – in Zoya’s room on mehndi night, as requested by her. She wanted Najma to have the experience of hanging out with her sisters and have a pleasant reminiscence about her brother’s wedding, especially after the wounds and the void Tanveer had left. She knew how terribly her tamatar had missed creating those memories in all the rasams performed.

It was a task though, to push Ayaan off from the force and have him hang out in the opposite room. He’d wanted to hang out with the girls and gossip.

Humaira’s sparkling eyes had stopped him from going all the way and he had resumed to give his big brother company.

“I don’t know bhaijaan, it all happened so fast. I wasn’t even thinking about marriage and now I am ‘also’ getting married.”

“You are more unsure of the institution than you are of the person you are marrying, it seems like.”

“She’s a nice girl and my friend, I don’t want to hurt her.”

“You don’t go about marrying people if they are ‘nice’ and ‘you don’t want to hurt them’”. Asad said making air quotations. “You clearly have unresolved feelings for this girl Ayaan.”

“And I don’t have enough time to resolve them until the big day.”

“Why’d you agree in the first place?”

“Why’d you agree in the first place?” Ayaan countered back

“I am in love with your bhabhi.” Asad said simply, as a matter of fact.

Ayaan’s jaw fell to the floor and before he can pick it up, Asad added to his shock and misery “And I have a premonition that you care a great deal about Humaira as well and refuse to submit to yourself just like me. Bhai toh mere hi ho tum.”

“Did you just tell casually tell me that you are in love with Mona darling?!” he exclaimed ignoring Asad’s comments on his own love life.

He received a light smack on the back of his head.

“Soooo” Nuzhat cooed on the opposite side of the house walls “When did you know you guys fell in love?” She batted her eyes playfully.

“Love, Ishq, Pyaar, Mohabbat” Najma followed with her exaggerated mimicks.

Zoya hid her face in her quilt, shy.

“Bataiye na bhabhi” Nikhat joined in timid.

“Ab kya bataun, tumhare bhaijan hain hi itne romantic” she stopped to wink at Najma “not one moment compares.”

“Oooo” the girls squealed together.

“But in all seriousness, what they say is true, judai does do the trick. I never understood just how important he was, until he wasn’t by my side.”

Humaira’s ears perked up. Maybe she could disappear for a day and either have her worst fears confirmed that Ayaan didn’t want her or have her heart full and reassured on her wedding day. She was getting desperate every day and would do anything to know just what he wanted.

Her mind wandered off to Asad’s room.

“Mujhe lagta hai you both need to have a grown-up conversation” Asad spoke gravely giving it thought. “It put a lot of things into perspective for me and Miss Faaroqui. Love or no love, it’s pretty clear you are marrying her. You have been a good son, a good brother and a good friend and I really hope you could be a good husband as well. And that would only happen, if you are true to yourself and true to your future wife.” Ayaan took a deep breath at the word ‘wife’. “It’s you responsibility to make her feel reassured about her position in your life if you are to follow through with this nikaah.”

He wouldn’t know now, but realisation would hit him just like it did his brother, when his future wife would disappear on him, only to make him realise his love for her.

🌼🌼🌼

The next morning came with a thousand dreams and hopes of changing lives.

She had been finally left alone for fifteen seconds when her phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Jee kya main Mrs. Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan se baat kar sakta hu?”

“Jee wo iss waqt apne nikaah ke liye tayyar hone main busy hain, kya kaam hai aapko?”

“Unse kahiyega ki, main jaanta hun hamein ik dusre ko dekhna mana hai par...unki awaaz sune bina raha nai gaya.”

Zoya hugged the phone to her chest.

“Har ek rasam main koi na koi loophole toh hota hi hai.” she snickered.

Asad smiled serenly on the other end hearing her laugh.

“Mujhe yakeen nai ho reha aap hamesha ke liye meri hone vaali hain”

“Ab yakeen kar hi lijiye Jahapanah, aapki dulhan pakka irada karke ai hai”

Asad laughed on the other end “You tell me I am unromantic, have you heard yourself?”

“Maine kab kaha, you’re unromantic?!.”

“It’s pretty much the under tone of everything, Miss Faaroqui.” he was incredulous.

“Arey, aap bhi na, rehne dijiye, drama queen hain, zyada baatein mat banaiye. Allah miyan! phuphi a rahi hain, ok bye, see you.”

“Zoya...” he spoke into the dead receiver.

Oof this girl...and what was with his family not leaving her side. Can’t a man break all rules and romance his would-be wife that lived under the same roof for once!

Asad sighed and resigned to his fate of not being able to see her face until the evening.

He didn’t know why but he was paranoid since this morning. Or maybe he knew exactly why. He was worried someone might show up. He was worried that someone might try to sabotage their auspicious day. He had security guards everywhere and Ayaan had been instructed to be on watch as well.

His heart kept thundering still. He put the phone away and sat down to pray.

🌼🌼🌼

Aapi looked at him appreciatively as she passed him in the hall, carrying sweets and gifts to pack up in the car. They were all on the way to the wedding venue wrapping up last minute chores and rushing to get things out the door.

He was about to retreat to his room when he saw a glimpse of red and... beauty. His lips parted open, and he stared at the love of his life in complete awe.

How was it possible that someone as angelic as her walked the earth. She was the girl he had read about in books. Now walking towards him. Acknowledging him. Panicking. And running to hide behind the sofa.

“Allah Miyan, what’s wrong with you Mr. Khan? Phuphi ne kaha tha na hamein ik dusre ko nahi dekhna. Apne kyun dekha mujhe”

He still couldn’t wrap his mind around seeing her as his dulhan. It was hard to get the words out.

“Apne nikaah waale din bhi jeans pehni hai?”

“So what? If I feel comfortable in jeans, I’ll wear them however I please.”

His focus was to see her face again. It felt like he was able to breathe for the first time out of his morning paranoia.

“Acha aap bahr ton aiye”

“Okay, make sure you cover your eyes.” He rolled his eyes and didn’t even attempt.

Full vision or partial, as fate would have it, they collided once again, and she ended up in his arms.

There was vulnerability in the way he looked at her in silence as he held her. Zoya's eyes scrolled his handsome face and her lips formed a slight grin. He was going to be hers, forever.

In moments like these, when it was just them, she knew nothing had to be said. The eyes said it all. Talked. Danced. Pranced. They confessed to the world just how truly they loved each other.

When she realised what she was doing, she turned away from him in a rush, slightly blaming, “Mr. Khan, ye kya kiya apne, phuphi ne kaha tha na hamein ik dusre koi nahi dekhna.”

“Agar aap ko itni problem hai, toh baar baar takrati kyu hain.” He said pouty. Just let me look at you woman.

"Takrate takrate ye naubat hai, ki aaj nikaah hone wala hai hamara” he couldn’t keep the pout on his face any longer. His woman had a way with words.

He moved to turn around, desperate to look into her kohl lined eyes.

“Ya Allah, kya kar rahe hain, kaha hai na phuphi ne” Asad let out a sigh “Mr. Khan it’s considered inauspicious. Kuch galt hoga...”

He held her hand before she could finish to stop her words into existence. He turned around to face her. Zoya’s back to him, he spoke, lips close to her ear.

“Ab kuch galt nahi hoga Zoya, hamare beech koi nahi a sakta, kismat bhi nahi.”

Zoya gasped at his words.

Before she could stop herself, she turned around looking into his eyes, believing every word. The way her name would just flow on his lips, made her pulse go haywire.

Not a single graze across her skin, not a single kiss pressed upon her lips, yet this was the most intimate she’d felt with him. Ever.

Scary. Exciting. Invigorating. Her pulse ran and heart thundered.

Without breaking the gaze, she whispered “Qubool hai”

Most people didn’t know when they fell in love. Asad knew. He just did. Again.

“Qubool hai” he whispered before he wed her soul to his and claimed her lips to the beginning of their eternity.

🌼🌼🌼
