"What are you saying api?" Zoya asked not believing her sister.

"You heard me right Zoya. It's been 6 months already that you are living in this house and Asad Ahmed Khan is doing nothing but dismissing you. You told me that he had slapped you when his mother got shot, he keeps treating you like a stranger, he..."

"Bas Api!" Zoya shouted. "Please don't say no more.." She whispered. She looked at Asad and her eyes got locked with his. He was saying a thousand times 'sorry' through his stare.

She approached him and took his hands in hers.

"In all my life, I have only trusted api and jiju. Today, I'm doubting her words because these four days were enough for me to know more about you. I know that you are caring, loving, nice...Please Mr Khan, tell me that what she's saying is false. Please tell me that you're not like this." She looked at him, pleading him to tell the truth.

"I'm sorry Zoya." Asad said pulling back his hands from hers. "She's right." Asad said.

"Did you hear him Zoya? And you still won't believe me?" Zeenat said.

"Bas api! Bas! I don't want to..I can't hear you any more!" Zoya shouted then she took Asad hand and locked themselves in her room.

"Zoya open this door! Zoya what you're doing isn't right Zoya! Zoya you can't lock yourself in a room with a boy!" Zeenat screamed from outside but Zoya didn't listen to her.

"Zoya, please, open the door." Asad said.

"No. I won't open the door. Zeenat api just shown me that I can't trust her. So I want you to sit here and I want you to tell me the truth. I want you to be sincere with me. I trust you Mr Khan. Please don't lie to me." She said and they sat together on the bed. They had completely forgotten everything outside this room.

"Zoya, the first time we met was after I saw you crying on the dargah. You have ran from your nikkah with Akram because you discovered that he was an ass hole. I had almost hit you with my car.."

"Is this when.."

"No you didn't suffer from any injury, just your elbow was bruised. I remember what you've told me when I came to see if you were okay."

"You must be disappointed because you've tried to kill me but you failed! If you can't drive, why are you driving?" She had said angry.

"What about you? You can't even walk properly! You should stay at home!"

"If you can talk politely,you should keep your mouth shut!"

Zoya was remembering their encounter. She put her hand over his mouth when he was still saying their argument and she lowered her hand when they eyes meet again.

He smiled and continued his little story, their story.

"When we were in Mangalpur, you had saved Maryam, my cousin. You saved her life because she has been forced to marry the man who raped her. Then the groom's goons ran after us and they buried you alive.."

" I know it already." She said. He continued telling her their story.

"Ammi and Tamatar love you to pieces. They didn't hesitate on defending you each time I was angry at you.." He said.

"Why were you always angry at me? Did you..Do you hate me? Did I do something wrong?" She asked as she got up from the bed, facing the window while she recalled some of their fights.

Asad got up too and walked near Zoya.

"Miss Farooqui.." He began.

"Why are you calling me Miss Farooqui now? Why don't you call me Zoya?"

"I'm sorry..Zoya. I know that I treated you badly. I know that no matter how many times I tell you sorry, that won't erase the pain I made you feel."

"The pain is nothing compared to the shame I feel Mr Khan. Because now I remember everything. Truth is that as soon as api told me that you were the cause of my accident, I remembered everything that happened this famous morning and the night before! I just wanted to give you a chance to explain yourself." She explained sobbing. He wanted to hug her but as soon as she felt his touch, she stepped aside.

"I don't want your sympathy Mr Khan. I want an explanation. Because now I'm done Mr Khan! I can't take it any more! I want to know why you're acting like this with me!" She screamed at him. The people outside were worried. Dilshad knew that this had to happen someday but she was scared that Asad would lose the woman he truly loved.

"Zoya please.." He began. " I didn't want to act this way with. I didn't want to.."

"You know what Mr Khan? Never in my life I felt this insecure about myself! You treated me in such a way that I began to doubt about myself. One day you act as if I mean something to you and another day you treated me like a stranger."

"Zoya I'm sorry." He said.

" A sorry can't change what happened. A sorry can't erase the fact that nights ago you made me feel complete and the morning after you shattered my life." She said and was ready to leave.

"Zoya I acted this way towards you because I was scared to love you." He walked towards her and pressed himself into her. She was now trapped between his body and the door.

"What assure me that you won't be a coward Asad. What proves me that you won't end up hurting me once again. You made promises when we were making love. You told me that you will never hurt me. You told me that you wanted to spend your whole life with me. You said that never again I will feel alone and unloved by you, but the morning after you broke all these promises. I believed them all. I gave you my heart, body and soul but.. You broke them all." She said as tears were streaming down her face. She unlocked the door.

"I don't want your love any more. I'm done fighting for you. I give up." She opened the door and without even glancing at her sister or Dilshad and Najma, she left the house. They ran after her but just saw a mere glimpse of her as she was leaving in a cab.
