Thanks all once again. Daytime is better since we constantly monitor and meds are also given right on time. Nights are rough since we don't always catch the fever before it crosses 102 or so.

Alright friends...need some prayers. Little boy has been running very high fevers for over 24 hours. Meds bring it down for a few hours but it crosses 104.5 before we can administer new dose. Doctor thinks its viral and to let his body fight. But I am starting to get worried.

I will be taking him back to the doctor in a few hours.

Rivs

If you you dont mind my advising. Get vicks, Rub it into the palms of his feet vigorously till you get a warm feeling. Put on thick woolen socks. Do the same on chest and back and put oon thick woolen clothes. Give hi any hot drink and tuck him into the blankets. Dont let him out till he breaks the fever by perspiring. Once he sweats it out give him a hot water sponge and change his cloths.

He should feel better after that...

Thanks everyone once again.
For the prayers, I am sure they are being heard.
For the advice, I am following what I can and what my doctor approves.
For the kind words, its a good feeling after what this forum has been through the last few weeks.

I would love to personally reply to everyone, but I would rather spend that time with him than at the computer. And I can only type so much on the phone. Though I am trying to stay connected and not die out of boredom when he is watching his movies.😆 There is only so much Penguins of Madagascar and Ice Age mommy can take. Yeah sick time in the house means the TV rules and everything goes out the window.

He is playful, but since the last few hours, his activity level has gone down. We are trying to hydrate him, but he is a strong willed 2 year old and its really hard to make him do anything, including getting him to drink his favorite juice. So my guess is we are heading towards dehydration and weakness since his appetite has been quite low too.

Days are easier since we are able to constantly monitor him, but I worry about the night. That is when his fever peaks since we monitor every few hours hoping to get him to rest without disturbance. Even meds get spaced out so that he can sleep more. Tonight, we plan to take turns so that we can monitor him better.

I wanted to give you a long update so I grabbed the laptop as soon as I got some time.

Thanks a lot
Rivs
