As a muslim i know that no matter how modern you are, there are still some limitations. Like muslims women can not showcase their bodies to that extent in front of men who are na-mehnram i.e men who aren't your husband, brother, son, father.

And because Zoya has been shown as a muslim who goes by the religion, i think it wasn't appropriate.

Ofcourse is a woman's right to choose what she wants to wear, no doubt. But since this show is portraying muslim women, some fundamental principles of the religion need to be kept in mind.

But was he right shouting at her? NO. He was totally not right shouting at her. Since he isn't her husband yet, he can not tell her what to do and what not to do.

I agree with Asad. Being Muslim, I know that we are not allowed to show much skin and that skirt is short. Even I was born and raised in New York but that doesn't mean that you can forget your religious boundaries. Although we don't know much about the actual scene yet, if Zoya starts to defend her behavior by saying that Asad has old school thinking, I'll be pretty disappointed. Cuz I watch this show cuz I like how they show the muslim religion and conservative culture. Hopefully the CVs won't lose their sanity!

If she had worn a skirt upto the knees It would be fine. This skirt was too short even for non Muslims. Specially when dilshaad is living in same house. Very uncalled for. After last week of constant defeat for Zoya I was hoping for a good week when they somewhat start believing her. But it looks like more of asad yelling. 😕

of all the comments so far .. I agree with yours because in this situation no one is right !!
zoya can wear the skirt no problem even if she is a muslim girl but she should keep it within the boundaries of her home ...
and like wise asad cannot stop her from wearing the skirt bcoz he is not her husband yet ..
and I think the skirt was too short !!!

I personally feel that the skirt was a little too short. 😆 It was like a miniskirt for me actually.
Zoya being a muslim should not have worn that skirt, especially in the presence of a muslim family.
I am a muslim so my thoughts on this are a little different. I am really enjoying the conflict of though process between Asad and Zoya though. 😳 I love their fights! 😆

Cvs are showing reality--Zoya is a Muslim girl but we can't overlook the fact that she is not a middle eastern girl but an American citizen!
Also, Adam and Eve were naked--they realized their nakedness only after they gave into sin-- it's was their shame that made them wanna cover themselves--and that's why we all cover up now because of the sin in the world--no purity in hearts of people so we can't walk around without clothes but God's original plan wasn't clothes! I have never read in any faith book about God giving clothes to Adam and Eve!
I am not a Muslim but I have a lot of muslim friends. I was raised in the US and now living in Canada. Zoya is just like any other Muslim girl who is raised in the west--respecting values and her religion but you can't forget the fact that she's an American citizen--She is a Muslim but she is raised in New York..and honestly I don't find anything wrong with skirts! Clothes do matter but Zoya isn't dressed like a hoochie girl--she looks fine! and she respects her Indian culture and doesn't wear short stuff in India..she only wore it because Najma asked her! + don't get me started on what happens behind the burkas..I know it all!!! Razia and Tanu cover their heads..do I need to say anything else?
