The men decided that they will dress in traditional wear Yash was dressed in a new off white with gold embroidery and brown border on the sleeves and neckline sherwani he had a brown dhoti with matching dupatta.

Prateek chose a grey and sliver ensemble, their dada ji and bauji choose a cream, and light brown outfits while Pankaj chose a more colourful pattern deep blue, and light blue creation.

The Sharma men and Akash also decided upon traditional wear only Aaman need convincing to wear his maroon and gold outfit when the poor boy saw what his fathers wanted him to wear he had a moment of nervous fright he thought that maybe they were trying to marry him off too and Aarti's prospective groom may have a sister whom they were trying to stick him with.

The ladies al looked beautiful in their saree and Mansi looked mature in her aqua coloured lehenga choli with matching dupatta.

Aarti was dressed in a pink with gold workings lehenga choli with matching dupatta covering her head she had on gold jewellery of a simple flowered design and very light make up just how she likes it, her hair combed in a long braid she looked stunning

There was excitement in the air Mansi and Aaman kept trying to find out what why who how about the evening but no one was sharing just told to come and sit quietly with the grand parents who were just as confused. Ten they heard the arrival of their mystery guest when they saw the Scindhias hope crept in the hearts of the four concerned individuals. Then the very traditional greetings were done for Yash Mansi could not take it anymore she ran excitedly upstairs to their room to inform her beloved didi that Yash and his parents were here and he was greeted with honour of a groom. Mansi hugged and kissed her did so happy for her that her dream was coming true. The sisters laughed and cried together sharing their love for each other.

Their Aripta mama came together with their Sharmas mama "Girls control yourselves we know you are happy but Aarti has to fix her make up before she goes downstairs" said chhoti mama

Yash was so happy and nervous to meet his future in laws he had butterflies in is stomach and Prateek constant teasing in the car did not help Pankaj and Vidhi Bhabhi did their fair share of teasing too.

When they finally arrived at the Sharmas Yash was so happy he would see his Aarti it was two days since he last saw her as yesterday he was busy all day with Pankaj bhayia working on a project. The elders greeted him with so much love and he took their blessing wondering why were they making such a fuss over this as far as he understood their engagement was for next week -

Aaman towards him and give him a tight hug "Congrats Yash my bhai now I have to call you jiiju because now you are both my best friend and my jiija ji" he teased

Yash returned the hug and asked Aaman "You are okay with this?"

"Yes I am. I know how much you have always cared for Aarti, and witnessed the change in your relationship throughout the years. I just ask you to always be there for her and love her."

"And if I don't"

"Well then I will forget that we are best friends and I love you as my brother and beat you up"

He took him inside to sit and they were wondering what is this all about all this formality.

"Yash beta is everything okay" asked Akash

JI uncle but I am bit confused as to why we are dressed like this.'

"Beta this is our traditional wear and our custom we that is your Sharma uncles, dadaji, and I have to speak to you in private and ask you certain questions regarding your ability to care for our daughter, and our future grand grandchildren for the rest of your life we have to make sure that you are both physically, and mentally prepared for this responsibility don't worry it is a mere formality"

"I am allowed to see and speak to Aarti first right?" he looked at his uncle soon to be father in law with so much hope and love shinning in his eyes that Akash did not want to spoil his mood

"Beta you will see her when she comes downstairs and sit, then she will serve tea and snacks after you will come with us and she will stay with your family and talk to them okay then when you are finished with us you will be allowed to speak to her for ten minutes then you both will return and tell us your decision okay"

Yash was like what no way are they for real so much torture for him all he wants to do is hug and kiss his Aarti.

Aaman tried cheering him "Yash at least you both know each other, what about those poor souls who only get ten minutes to make a lifelong decision , and you know our elders they are a part of your extended family not some cold strangers"

Finally Aarti came down the steps accompanied by her mothers and sister, Yash could not stop himself from staring she looked so gorgeous in her simple outfit "Bhayia close your mouth before a fly goes in" said Prateek while giving him a slight nudged to gain his attention.

Aarti greeted the elders taking their blessings and then sat opposite him between her mothers, she kept her eyes looking downward ans a small smile on her lips; after some small talk between the ladies her bade mama told her to serve tea and snacks to all starting with Yash. Poor girl nervously completed her task she was accustomed of doing this with all of them thought the years but this time she moved slowly and her hands shook slightly. All were patient because they knew their child was nervous.

Then Yas went with the men and the remaining party just talked and laugh with each other occasionally teasing the kids about when it is their turn how much fun the adults will have with them.

Then the much awaited time arrived AarYa get their ten minutes together but they had to go to the nearest room to speak so kissing was out.

Aarti "Yashu do you believe this all this formality I thought my hands would fall off serving tea did you hear the china going clock clock? And I am sure sweat was running down my back"

"Baby I know what you mean Uncles asked so much questions you would think it was a job interview I mean how do I know or anybody for that matter know what will happen in the next five or ten years"

"So what did you say?'

"I said that I know we are very young but we love each other, and we are going to support each other through all time good or bad. That we are friends and we share a deep understanding for each other; that I know there may be bad trying time in our marriage but we will work on it together as a couple, that we will always talk to eachother sharing all our problems and happy moments"

Aarti walked to him threw her arms around him and whispered "Yash SP Scindhia I am so proud of you and I love you so very much"

"Aarti Sharma I love you too and I am proud that you are mine"

Then came the knock on the door followed ny chhoti ma Yash Aarti time to come and join everyone"

The elders sat closely looking at the young couple as they came out of the room they were not even holding hands or smiling "What is your decision" Scindhia dada ji asked

Yash said "I agree dada ji for this marriage"

"Aarti beta what about you?"

"I also agree dada ji"

"And the parents do you all agree?"

"Ji we all agree"

"Then it is settled then next week will be your engagement." Responded dada ji

"Good now let us all go for dinner, and after the kids can spend some time away from us oldies" said Sharma dada ji.

During dinner AarYa sat together chatting away about how their parents are so strange making them go through all this drama and wondering what will happen for the engagement.

After dinner the five youngsters retreated to the garden with Pankaj, and Vidhi as chaperons they teased AarYa endlessly Prateek " Guess what from now on everywhere you two go an adult will accompany you until you are married. Am I right Pankaj bhayia?

"Yes chote all the dates they will be going on either your Bhabhi or I or both of us will be there"

"So no hanky-panky for you my poor bhayia" teased Prateak

"Ptateek you are becoming too shameless now" scolded Yash looking at his love who was becoming redder by the minute brought on by all these teasing. Then Aaman suggested to play some music and let them have a party he play cupid playing some slow romantic music for AarYa to dance joined in by Pankaj and Vidhi who was enjoying themselves.

The following week aarti spent it with the ladies making arrangements for the roka, engagement, and birthday celebrations. Yash continued his part time job with his bauji and bhayia. Aarya went out on a couple of dinner dates with a movie after and each time they had the company of their six chaperones because Prateek insisted that his best friend Paridhi join them too because he felt left out Mansi and Aaman pointed out to him that they too have no partners so the next time they invited Mansi's and Aarti's close friend Sunita and her older brother who attended school with Yash and Aaman in Bhopal. AarYa were only able to hold hands during the movie and the car.

The day before the engagement they were allowed to spend the day together with the guards close at hand so they made the most of it they stayed at the SM using the pool, their secret spot in the garden for some innocent kissing, holding hands, a little exploring of each other, and enjoying just being together.

The engagement was grand affair kept at the Sharma Mansion Shoba ma and company came from the orphanage for the event, Akash's relatives from Delhi were invited, close relatives ,close friends and business colleagues, the media were also informed. The decorations were spectacular lots of flowers especially roses of different colours and jasmines, there were strings of lights intermingled with beads and flowers hanging from the ceiling.

The pundit said a short pray then the roka begun followed by the exchange of rings. AarYa were smiling and looking at each other during the entire ceremony. Then there was the entertainment local dance groups performing to Bollywood hits old, new and there were also some classical performance the guests were highly appreciated. Then there was dinner followed by more entertainment then the dance floor was opened to all willing participants AarYa had fun dancing together only Aaman, Prateek, Karan and Vijay were allowed to dance with her as they were family.

Akash chacha and chachi stood by and observed everything they noticed the proximity of the guards and all whom Aarti interacted with, who looked at the couple with jealousy those who looked like they could be swayed by money to commit a crime. While they looked for an innocent pawn Akash, The Scindhia, and Sharma men observed them and their movement. Aarya eventually made their way into her room for some privacy and light flirting with lots and lots of kissing.

There was a light knock on the door then Mansi and Sunita came in she smiled at them and said they will be their chaperone so no fingers will be pointed at them don't worry they will be on the terrace and not disturbed the love birds. Aarti felt self-conscious the mood was broken so they just sat with Aarti in Yash's lap talking with Yash intermittently dropping light kisses on her neck, lips, and checks.

Aarti felt so treasured and love but also sad in two days Yash is returning to London and it will be months before they meet again.

The next day all slept late the birthday bash would be held in the grand ballroom of a five star hotel all who were invited to the engagement and a few more of the kid's friends were invited to the lavish dinner and then AarYa cut their cake giving the first piece to each other followed by the opening of the dance floor. All of Aarti's friends wanted to see her ring they gushed over it telling her that she is so lucky with some asking if she don't feel like she is to young for something as serious as marriage.

Aarya had a wonderful time dancing the night away with some kissing away from prying eyes. The next day Yash and Aaman left for the airport in the late evening AarYa held each other tightly their goodbye was bitter sweet with promise to visit at December.
