Remembering 26/11 - actors salute the martyrs and the spirit of Mumbai
  • 26/11

Today is 26/11'the day when the city of Mumbai four years ago came to standstill thanks to a barbaric terrorist attack. The lone attacker captured in the act, Kasab after facing the proceedings of Indian law, was finally hanged to death last week.

It's true that the assault held Mumbai by its throat for some time, but given its never say die spirit, the city with a difference fought back and exuded same degree of vitality soon showing the world that no matter what'none can kill the soul of Mumbai'or India in a larger spectrum.

Today, many actors, including the entire nation, paid tribute to the bravehearts, who lost their lives in that fateful night to save the lives of thousand. We had a word with some and others went on to share their feelings via Twitter.

    Let's read on...

Eva Grover,, who was last seen in Sony TV's Bade Achhe Lagtey Hain opined, "I am deeply saddened by the entire thing that took place. I just pray to God that every soul lost in the attack rest in peace and happiness prevail in the world."

Devoleena Bhattacharjee,, who is seen as Gopi in Saath Nibhana Saathiya averred, "It was the darkest day which is unforgettable, my deepest condolences to all the victims of 26/11 terror attack and to the brave policemen who lost their lives."

Ace tarot card reader Munisha Khatwani, opined, "It was a very unfortunate incident. I remember that day I was out and witnessed the chaos on the streets. Later, I lit up candles for the martyrs who lost their lives. I pray for their families. I am content about the fact that Kasab got hanged and justice prevailed."

Rithvik Dhanjani,, who is seen as Arjun in Pavitra Rishta shared, "I feel very sad, that we can't afford to protect the sea coast around the city as we don't have enough police boats or any other form of security. We must buck up in that front. And corruption is also an issue as since the last four years a 1000 crore has been apparently spent on coastal security. Where has the money gone? We need to find answers. Furthermore, I just believe in Mumbai as the city that never gives up, we wouldn't either, hoping that the conditions get better."

Darshan Pandya, who is seen in Kya Huaa Tera Vaada on Sony Entertainment Television as Vineet, went on to state, "I think there's much more to 26/11 then it comes across. I feel there is a lot more hidden and there is a larger picture to the controversy. We lost so many lives and the grief is still there with the families. We should never forget the martyrs who saved so many lives."

Now let's delve into the tweets'

Shraddha Kapoor- Remember the 26th of November. Heres remembering the victims and their loved ones of 26/11 (sic).

Tusshar Kapoor- No prayer is enough to express the emotion we have for our soldiers & civilians who fought the 26/11 crisis, a tragic eye opener for Mumbai!

Vishal Malhotra- 4 years since 26/11, only noticeable change is that you get to see cute Labradors at hotel entrances... Think India!!

Raghu Ram- Remembering karkare sir, kamte sir, salaskar, unnikrishnan, and everyone else who lost their lives 4 yrs ago today. can never get over this.

Swapnil Joshi- My heart goes out to all those who lost their loved ones. And a big bow to the Mumbai Police who went all out to safeguard us. #26/11 one more... Four years have passed..and the spirit of Mumbai is stronger than ever before. Terror will lose to peace... Always. #26/11

Ayesha Takia Azmi- Prayers for all those n the families that were affected by 26/11 .. God give them eace..#PrayersFor26/11
