It's kinda twisted...but he might think that, given that Nidhi knows of his love for children, she may feel the news of Mallika's child might make him bond with Mallika again.,..which he knows is not the truth but given her past hurts, he feels she may not understand right away...so he may want to give it a bit of time,...is that twisted enough?
