Chapter 5
Abhay parked his Jaguar outside the Dobriyal house. He looked up at a room towards the left. He resisted the urge directly jump into the room.
Better assess the situation he thought
He decided to follow etiquette and get in by the front door. He listened carefully to know who was going to open the door. He was more than relieved to see Misha on the other side.
"Dude you are in for a rough deal….both of them are in worst moods possible" Misha said with a grin.
"Thanks Misha for that welcome" Abhay said with a grimace."What is the matter now"
"His Higness was impatiently waiting for you and was adamant that he will only go out with you...Birdie tried to persuade him to go with her...but nope His Highness won't listen...Panch was in a foul mood too...so both ended up fighting" Misha explained smiling fondly at the thought of His Highness "Now both of them will eat you alive" she said sniggering.
"Abhay…..welcome beta" Madhu said coming in to check who was the visitor.
"Hello Aunty" he smiled at her .
"I will move on I guess" he said and proceeded upstairs.
"All the best" Misha said giving a thumps up.
Abhay smiled and proceeded towards the room he had been visiting often for the past few months.
He opened the door cautiously.
"Finally….here is your most favourite person on earth" an angry voice said from his right.
He turned to see Panchi looking daggers at him.
"Hey Panch" he gave her his trademark dashing smile which melted many a female hearts. But it didn't work on Panchi right then. She huffed and continued glaring at him.
He then turned his head to his most beloved person on earth who was sitting with his back to Abhay.
"Hey Dhruv" he said as he walked towards a two year old boy sitting on a small couch near the window.
He turned his light green eyes to face Abhay reminding Abhay of the person he hated the most on earth. As much as he loved the cute face in front of him, he found it hard to repress the hatred that rose in him every time he looked into those brilliant greens. They belonged Siddarth. Only these pair held only immense love for him and right now cross for not keeping the promise Abhay made to him.
"You are the one who spoils him" Panchi said giving the pair of them an irritated look "He won't listen to me when I said you might be busy….I told him I will take him out…..but no he says "Mumma you are boring"" Panchi said imitating her sons voice. "I won't take you out next time even if you beg me to" she threatened.
Dhruv gave her you-are-kidding-me look. He knew his mother very well. All he needed to do was smile at her and she would melt like ice-cream. He turned his eyes on Abhay.
What took you so much time he asked mentally.
Was practicing boxing Abhay replied I should be able to defeat you right ,gotta stay young to see you grow old he grinned.
Nice joke Dhruv said making a faceI am still angry .
"Quit the mind chat will you….you can talk out loud" Panchi interrupted their chat, glaring back and forth between them.
"You told me not to speak Mumma" Dhruv told her honestly.
Panchi glared at her son.
"Okay fine….I guess you don't need me anymore….you have your Abhay chachu right….enjoy" Panchi said and stormed out of the room.
"Not in a good mood is she?" Abhay asked Dhruv smiling.
"She is disturbed…..her head was filled with his thoughts today" Dhruv replied his small forehead creasing with worry. Dhruv shared a strong mental bond with Panchi. He loved his mother to the core and couldn't bare to see her even a little bothered.
Abhay gritted his teeth in anger. Siddarth had just gotten back to Dehradun and already he was causing disturbance.
"Don't worry champ…..I will talk to her…..or better yet we will take her with us shall we?" Abhay soothed him.
"Good idea…but I don't think she will agree" Dhruv said smiling for the first time. It just made him look more cute and reminded Abhay of Siddarth even more.
"Leave that to me…..no one can resist the Raichand charm" Abhay said with a crooked smile.
"All the best" Dhruv said with a thumps up.
"You go and call Misha….we will take her too" Abhay said walking out.
Abhay knocked on Panchi's room.
"Come in Abhay" she said. She was sitting on the bed clutching a pillow. She looked lost.
"Are you okay Birdie" he asked sitting down near her.
"Abhay is he…actually back" Panchi asked locking her black eyes onto Abhay's icy-blue ones.
Abhay just nodded in reply. Panchi's face fell. She was hoping against hope that Siddarth wasn't back. It took her one long year to recover from the shock that Siddarth had left her in. She had betrayed the trust of her parents too making survival in her home all the more painful. It was quiet hard considering that she lived with a living proof of his betrayal.
Her half-vampire half-human son, Dhruv. She loved her son beyond measure. But just like Abhay she resented the fact that he had the light green eyes of Siddarth. A pair of eyes which once held pretentious love for her. A pair which she loved the most. Panchi wished so much that Abhay had not saved her during child-birth. He had hired witches to help her through the grueling procedure. Finally he had injected his blood with venom into her body. The blood had saved her. She was saved and just like her son. Neither human nor vampire, because she wasn't bitten by a vampire. She didn't possess any special powers except for the fact that she liked bloody foods more now and was more strong than a normal human. The society thought Dhruv to be her adopted son. He was born just an year ago but was already looking like a two year old. Her parents had forgiven her out of the love they had for her. She had built a strong persona for herself in the business world by taking the Dobriyal Empire to new heights.
But now she wished she was dead. It was better than facing the person she hated and loved equally.
"Panchi don't" Abhay said reading her mind.
"Don't wish that you were dead…..at least not near Dhruv…..you know right what he feels about himself" he said squeezing her hands gently. Dhruv resented himself that he resembled his father. That he was ever born. Being a half-vampire his mental development was far ahead of a normal two year old child. So were his feelings.
She smiled faintly a lone tear falling from her eye. Abhay wiped it away.
"Smile Birdie…..I have told you na you have a killer smile" he said smiling at her.
"Not as much as yours" she replied smiling.
"Lets go…..Misha and Dhruv are waiting downstairs….change and come down"
Abhay joined Misha and Dhruv who were waiting down stairs impatiently.
"Where are we going chachu?" Dhruv asked excitedly. Abhay bend down and picked him up.
"How about the new amusement park?" Abhay asked gently ruffling Dhruv's hair.
"No need……I can't try out the adventure rides" Dhruv pouted.
"Please don't go to some Mall…..Panchi will go berserk and your pockets will be emptied" Misha said
Panchi, who came down, smacked Misha on the head.
"We will go to that newly opened park…..its nearing evening….it will be wonderful to sit there" Panchi said.
"And it is also near a Mall…..so some shopping spree afterwards too" Misha said smirking.
"Anything for the ladies and this special gentleman" Abhay said with a small bow of his head at the girls and peck on Dhruv's cheek.
"Mom we are heading out" Panchi called out to Madhu in the kitchen.
"Beta please check with the mattress people….they haven't delivered the mattress yet" Madhu said peeking from the kitchen.
"Sure mom" Panchi said, picking up her bag and walking out.
"Extra mattress ? For whom?" Abhay asked Misha.
"Papa's long lost niece and our cousin Zara Dobrial is returning home, with a friend….she is coming back from Switzerland day after tomorrow" Misha informed "I will drive" she said snatching the key from Abhay.
"Misha give the keys…..you do not know the d of driving" Abhay said sternly.
"Chill Mr.Vampy….I can't kill you" Misha said with a wink.
"But you can kill yourself……so I will drive" Panchi snatched the keys.
"Whoa ladies! Please the leave the job to the man" Abhay said with a smile.
"Abhay this is 21st century…..so keep that to yourself…..I will drive" Panchi said firmly taking the driver seat.
Girls! Abhay and Dhruv exchanged mentally
In the forest……
There was a deafening thud as two huge wolves hit the ground. They rolled off and stood a feet apart from each other keeping their eyes locked onto each other.
You can't defeat me Alina scoffed at Ryan.
We will see about that Ryan shot back.
They charged at each other. Their furious head lock was broken by a pair of feet coming their way.
"Split up you two" Jeh ordered.
The backed off growling. Minutes later Alina emerged from behind a bush straightening down her dress.
"Jeh I would have won that" she said resentfully.
"No I would have" Ryan replied.
"Shut up loser" she snapped.
"Both of you shut up" Jeh said "We have to head home…..you have got to attend college tomorrow Alina" Jeh said. "Ryan your mom needs you at home"
"Catch ya at college loser" Ryan said before running of in the direction of his house.
"Great! Back to college" Alina said excitedly
"What is it about college that excites you so much" Jeh asked amused
"Books, friends" Alina replied.
"You have been to at least five colleges now…..isn't that enough" Jeh asked smiling.
"I just love the possibilities a new place has Jeh….this place seems to have a strange aura altogether…..like we are gonna have a whole new adventure here" Alina said clasping her hands in excitement.
"We have had enough adventures to last us a life….I think its time to settle down" Jeh said
"Are we thinking of a girl then…..wow I would love to have a bhabhi" Alina said with a smirk.
"Who said anything about a girl…..I don't wanna be committed ever in life baby sis" Jeh said with his classic smirk.
