if you notice, then everyone (geet, dev, NT, etc.) are standing in the lobby right now. the lobby is on the main floor. if the lift is going down, guess where it will end up? yup. the lobby. MSK is not going to have short term memory loss. the door will open right as geet is going to say that dev is the father of her child and the reason all of this happened. and then, maan will do whatever it is that he will do. no injuries. no memory loss. that's why everyone was shown in the lobby. so no, the show isn't going in a bad direction, the CV's are very logical.
