Now this is a safe topic.....I hope!
I was surfing the channels in between watching the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games....which was fantastic, btw, when I found that Zee was telecasting the awards.
So, I decided to ditch Doordharshan for a while and concentrate on the awards function to watch DD and GC dance.
The intro to the dance was really funny....the presenter Kavitha Kaushik announced that the next dance segment will be performed by a few who are desperate to get into the TV industry!
Then they showed GC sitting with Supriya Kumari (Bairi Pia) and DD sitting with Karan Thakkar watching the awards function on tV and each of them saying I wish I was there on stage.
Then all four get sucked into the Tv and make their entrance on stage in pairs.😆
DD and Karan Thakkars dance was really nice. I think they danceed to kambakth Ishq.. then GC and Supriya came on ....can't remember the song.....but the dance wasn't all that great....i think at one point, GC faltered.
Throughout the show, we got glimpses of DD wearing a white dress and Gc in a black suit and Debina in a saree. She looked very pretty. The couple were even called on stage to present the award for the best actor in a comic role....which went to the presenter, Kavita Kaushik.
I was impressed with Debina's style of presenting the award. Kavita was off stage when her name was announced by Debina... she turned to the co-host Manish Paul and said, " The winner should be somewhere here, near you? Where has she disappeared to?" Thought that was very quick witted of her.
