just a question guys..How can a girl living in a haveli be from a middle class.. I mean in her village, wasn't she like upper class with her daarji being some bigshot..I mean Geet has all the traditional values n all, n you don't need to be middle class to have good values (unlike as shown ALWAYS in indian serials)but why does she always refer to herself as middle class then??Like infront of sasha..True she's not elite society girl that one needs to be in delhi but technically she'd not middle class either..right??

Exactly my thought! I was just going through the part where she says that she is from a middle class family......how is that true......weren't the Handas the most influential family in Hoshiarpur......they were shown to be wealthy......and Geet owned land that was worth a crore or two( am assuing this coz that helped Dev in paying off his debts even though he sold it at double the price)......the family also must have had something left.....as in even Brij, Rajji and Titto must be having their share of the family wealth.......how is she middle class then ???😕😕😕😆😆😆

may be she is talking this becoz at present she is living middle class life
coming to the haveli may be she is rich at village but her way of living in village think abt facilities and all, in cities it is equal to middle class

I think she considers herself middle-class because her current lifestyle is very different from her previous lifestyle. When she lived in Hoshyarpur, she lived in a big house and all that but that life is very different from Delhi. Just like she said, many people can't afford ACs because its so expensive. She didn't necessarily come from a remote village, she just came from a less modern environment. Compared to Delhi, Hoshyapur is very lacking. Delhi has more necessities and more capabilities than Hoshyarpur. So maybe this can be a reason.

Even I was wondering why Geet keep referring to herself as coming from middle class family, given her family's influential power in her village......
@raisa159 - I agree with you..... Even I feel this is the reason that Geet refer to herself as middle class....
And also on comparing with Maan and his assets, Geet might not consider her family as rich anymore..... Financially Maan is way out of league regarding Geet's family......

Ann.
