Sadhna's sacrifices for Sharma's

I have been thinking a lot about why Sadhna lost to Ragini in the dance competition and why did she place Ragini's happiness over her relationship with Aalekh. Sadhna loves Aalekh and she has also seen him being concerned for her in the last few episodes - mystery man, party etc., so she knows Aalekh loves her. Of course losing a dance competition would not have threatened Ragini's life despite of what she said, sooner or later she would have come out of it, its not a big loss. But divorce is a big thing in front of this.

Thinking back, she has places entire Sharma clan's happiness first and has sacrificed a lot for them - be it giving her father's insurance money, marrying an abnormal person etc etc.

I have a feeling it has a lot to do with the fact that she is not Sharmaji's own daughter but his bhanji. Sadhna was always made unwelcome in Mamaji's house by Nani and Kaushi. Also from the time I have seen even Malti has not treated her the same as Ragini. So, probably Sadhna feels that she was a burden on their house and they did a huge ehsaan by raising her. I know Mamaji and Ragini never made her feel that way but probably others were enough to make her feel that way. So, by sacrificing over and again, putting her own wishes and happiness last, she just tries to pay them back for what they did for her.

Do you think a real daughter would do so many sacrifices for their parents/brother/sisters? Do you think Sadhna would have done the same if she were a real daughter? Please guys be practical in your answers. And no bashing please.

I didn't want to bring in Ragini here because she didn't encounter such situations and I don't want to compare Sadhna and Ragini here as it has been done so many times.

I do agree with you!
I think a lot of Sadhna's sacrificing has to do with the fact that she is eternally grateful to the Sharma's for raising her. While she does consider the Sahrmas to be her family, she knows somewhere deep inside that they are not her real family, especially since Nani and Kaushi never left even one chance to taunt Sadhna about her being a burden. Hence, every time, she places their happiness above hers, in a way trying to repay them for raising her.
Also, I think she's desired a mother's love over anythign else. So, she also hopes that by doing so much, her Mami will finally accept her--and Kaushi has been nice to her after Sadhna has sacrificed--so Sadhna has recived that reward before.
A real daughter/son may not necessarily give that many sacrifices for their parents. In Bidaai, Vinu certainly doesn't. Ragini never knows anything, but when she does, she does try her best to sacrifice: saying no to her marriage with Ranvir. After marriage, there haven't been any such situations where she could (she has no idea about the one going on right now and I don't want to get into whose fault that is since it's been discussed to death-so please don't quote me on this part and tell me that it's Ragini's fault).
Would Sadhna do the same if she was the real daughter? I don't know, but knowing Sadhna, I think she most likely would. But, if she was the real daughter, then she might also tell more people about what's going on?

if sadhna was their real daughter....she would have never been put down for her rang roop......sadi was always the target of abuse because she was fairskinned.....it would not have happened if sadi was their own......there are lots of families with similar situation where one daughter is beautiful and the other is not......but they do not make the pretty one feel guilty all the time......so if sadhna was their real daughter sadhna would not have to make these sacrifices because she would not be facing such abuse and would not try her best to repay the debt of giving her food and shelter.....a real daughter doesnt think of the food and shelter as debt .....because it the right of a child....but in sadi case.....sadhna sacrifices her happiness all the time because thats all she has....and she thinks her happiness is not as important as raginis or veenu......she would never be equal to them.

Interesting thought.

Lets just say maybe sadhna is doing sacrifices to repay back to sharma's for raising her. But is she doing that for her own pleasure that she "secretly" & silently is repaying them back? I mean she never ever lets the Sharma's know about her sacrifices she makes for them, then why would she be hoping for anything in return. It's true that she yearns for a mother's love & always hopes she will get that love from kaushi some day, but i don't think she does kaushi favours just to get that love. She didn't let the sharma's know bout her dance competition or signing divorce papers then why would she be hoping for their love for her unknown sacrifices? If sadhna showed off her sacrifices to the sharma's, then maybe i could believe that she wants the sharma's to see that she's repaying them back. But her sacrifices are merely a pleasure for herself, & when one gets pleasure sacrificing for their loved ones, it's nothing but unconditional love.

It's hard to say if she would so the same if she was their real daughter. There are some children tht r total jerks & some are truly responsibe. But i am pretty sure sadhna would still do the same things, well because, she is SADHNA! Doesn't matter if she's his daughter or her daughter, her character & heart stays the same na?

@ chocolover89, I didn't want to bring in Ragini here cause I just wanted to understand if Sadhna's behavior would have been different if she was the daughter of Sharmaji and Kaushi.

Sadia, I don't think Sadhna intentionally does it to get the reward, but probably somewhere deep down, subconsciously she does things to pay back Sharma's for raising her and giving her love cause she was not their own child. Otherwise why would she put a mere dance competition with her sister over her relationship with her husband?

I agree with the unhappyviewer's line
"a real daughter doesnt think of the food and shelter as debt .....because it the right of a child".

I don't think Sadhna thinks its her right in the Sharma house, but she thinks thats kind of a favor they do for her.

You ae right Unhappyviewer... had Sadhana been the real daughter, she would have got the same exact treatment Ragini was getting. Even though Sadi is the beautiful one, she was most abused and the original post, yes, she feels indebted to the family for raising her, and also to be accepted by Kaushi who she revers as a mother, but never that love was receprocated. But whatever the situation, it is highly unnatural for a married woman to divorce her husband to fukfill the needs of the family who raised her. Total trash idea. That's pushing things to the edge of the cliff for me. Looks like this is an experiment of CT on the viewers lol...

Anyways Ct has been definitely successful taking me to the edge of the cliff with this divorce theme... either I fall agonizing or quit Bidaai totally.... now it's anybody's guess in real world 😊
