Today is the death anniversary of the "Father of our Nation" Mahatma Gandhi. Its exactly 62 years that he was assassinated by Nathuram Godse on 30th January 1948 at the age of 78. His memorial is situated in Rajghat, New Delhi.
Before my topic is designated as something not related to Bidaai, I'ld say like to defend it as BIdaai's present track deals with "truth". And Gandhiji dedicated his life to discovering Satya or truth. His autobiography is named "The story of my experiments with truth". As per Gandhiji, one needs to overcome ones own fears, and insecurties following the path of truth. Gandhiji openly proclaimed that Truth is God and God is truth.
Some of the important quotes of Gandhiji about truth are
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall — think of it, always."
He wrote as an introduction for his autobiography the following..
"... [the experiments] will of course include experiments with celibacy, non resistance, non violence and other principles of conduct believed to be distinct from truth.""
To aptly conclude as per Martin Luther King
