True Litmus test

I am reading this forum for a while and this my first post. I was wondering the format of the show does really provide the true talent, since participant can always choose the song which suits their voice(read avoid weakness) and of course the echo symapthy it drives.

How about if same song is given (and yes it should not be typical filmi song but must have some classical base (not just simple pahadi rag:-)) with specific time provided to prepare their own. But then you have to see if promoters really interested in true talent, all they want is to entertain aam public(who any day would prefer one two ka four my name is lakhana as oppose to tumse mile, aesa laga tumse milke(both release same year i guess))and make money out of it

you hit the nail on the head.

the old show DID have such tests. the new one is more Idol-ish. Paisa bolta hai...chilla chilla ke bolta hai.

This is more evident beucase I see Vinit somehow always mananges to find something that suits his voice no matter how simple(easy) it's gayaki. For that matter I always find Hema chose the toughest one and reason being he has most original voice.
The Nihira's last song was one of the most toughest song(as oppose to sandeshe aate hai) and result she got lowest other one got highest 😡
You can't really trust public to be intelligent enough to understand these intricacies, unless it is same song rendered by all participants

this IS a gud idea..atleast for me..
singing different songs CAN make some difference.. 😕
