I don't think it is underrated. It was a very popular song. It used to play on TV all the time.

But, storyline was outdated especially the parts were ML was poor or the FL’s father grew up in poverty..

Oh it reminds me of the days of MS messenger chatrooms and talking to strangers in the chatrooms. This song was quite popular that time, they used to play it very often on music channels. Also between 2000-2003 they used play this movie on star plus many times.
