If I may say something. .. it would be simple to just keep winter theme and let the readers decide for themselves if it qualifies. It's not like we are going to have another winter themed RC anytime soon... so no point in making it so specifically focused on the month of Dec. Whether it's Christmas or NYE or just winter or snow... keeping it broad will allow everyone more choices. As long as the reader can justify how the book fits the theme while writing their review, it should be okay.

Just my two cents on this never-ending debate (which should never have been... considering how simple the theme is really 🤦🏻‍♀️ let us all stop complicating everything 🙈)

You could have said the same thing in PM.

The reason I asked is that Lizzie/Shibani used to take the average number of books committed by members each month and calculate the weight/team size so it stayed mostly equal—basically summing up the averages.

It was just a question, not an accusation, and I certainly didn’t mean it as one. If someone had asked me or Shibani the same thing last month, we would have explained. It’s not personal. I’m not sure when asking a question started being treated as pointing fingers.

Although, I must say, it is kinda antithetical to your claims that IF is transparent. The basic rule of transparency is being open to questions.

Thank you and yes. Winter theme is perfect. Simple and straightforward and it covers a nice mix of books. smiley27

I thought it is better to post it in the thread so that everyone will be able to understand what method we are following since its inception.

Is there any word in my post as an accusation?? It seems my message was interpreted differently and you started accusing me for words which I never used or said in my posts!! I’m always open to questions and clarifications. Transparency has never been an issue. If anything was unclear, I would have been happy to explain, to whoever wants to know.

In my entire message there is only one line ---

I simply explained the process I followed, just as we’ve done in the previous months. And gave you the details/ names of the participants, just as we’ve done in the previous months.

It seems my message was interpreted differently than I meant it, and that’s where the confusion started. I’m always open to questions, transparency has never been an issue. If anything was unclear, I would have been happy to explain.

You asked me for details and I gave you the details with this only one sentence--- As we’ve done so far, I followed the same method while forming the teams.

In that case, you could have tagged multiple people if the information was intended to be general. A solitary tag was unnecessary.

Likewise, I asked a very straightforward question. At no point did I use—or even imply—statements such as “you are being unfair,” “you are biased,” or “the arrangement favours someone.” You chose to interpret my question as an attack on your integrity.

What holds true for you should hold true for me as well, right? If your interpretation of intent is considered reasonable, then mine must be afforded the same consideration. You interpreted my words; I interpreted your tag.

I rest my case here.

It is a good suggestion, Stuti. Okay, on readers' demand, I am adding the winter theme as well.

Here is the added content--

You need to read a minimum of 200 pages of Christmas or winter holiday themed books.
This includes books that revolve around: Christmas celebrations, Winter holidays, Snow-based or winter-season settings, Stories that set in December that prominently feature winter vibes, festivities, or seasonal themes, as long as the central atmosphere aligns with Christmas or winter holidays.

I shared that clarification in the forum because others might have had the same doubt you raised. You asked a question, and I responded by explaining how the teams were divided based on the number of books each person planned to read.

I’m not sure why this is being taken further, as my intention was only to clarify, nothing more. For me, the matter is already resolved with that explanation.

Let’s keep things simple and move forward positively.
