It used to be booming with great movies, excellent actors, and an excellent box office. But this was before COVID. After COVID, has Bollywood really recovered? smiley23 It seems it is a useless industry now. Most of the movies are crap now, I hardly go to the theatre anymore. What do you think?

bold: Sounds a bit arrogant to me as I really doubt that you've watched "most of the movies" "after Covid" to get a first-hand impression...

The most impactful repercussion (not only on the Hindi filmindustry) that Covid brought is the changed attitude of audiences to "hardly go to the theatre anymore" - like you do.

I didn't mean to be arrogant. It is just that the quality of movies are bad now.

I stream everything now, going to the theatre is a waste of money. Don't you think?

I don't know about useless, but nothing really excites me about Bollywood anymore.. gone are the days I used to anticipate movies coming out.

bollywood became useless since 2005-6 onwards only

quality of movies reduced drastically

few good movies came like kahani om shanti om, tamasha etc but they were very less every year

after 2012 the movies have been very less good

but after covid audience lost interest in bollywood because they got addicted to ott and youtube and netflix

bahubhali and kgf and kanata too was responsible for all this

hindi audience realized how bad bollywood movie are and how less effort their directors actors put in story direction acting music locations etc

The shift has come with first the need to get visual distraction at home and then the commodity of getting it without to pay the ticket prices and parking and popcorn and beverages...

The whole 'going to the movies' experience changed for a lot of people - not the demand for a 'quality' whose perception - in any ways - mostly is a personal one... There is a reason why certain movies got a great boxoffice (and no, I don't allude at cheating practices now) - they were 'events' to watch only this way in a theatre - like in the days one cherrishes in memory...

Unfortunately, filmindustries often are prone to repeat so-called 'formulas'... what achieved a good income gets replicated 'ad infinitum'...
