She flips around and makes eye contact with Bilal while Humsha is dragging her away.

It feels like she’s fighting her feelings but is still getting influenced by Humsha and Ammar. Ammar is such a loser by the way…he always seems insecure and jealous of Bilal Abdullah but sucks up to him when he sees him.

She has feelings for bilal definitely...you could see she was affected when her mom revealed he is the donor and again when zaviyar mentioned it; she definitely was eagerly running towards the door thinking it is him but later was disappointed to see ammar..I had this thought that the title sun mere dil might as well refer to her feelings for him somehow as she needs to listen to her heart and let go of her misconception of him based on hearsay...

Sadaf definitely have feelings for Bilal but she will not admit it! The way her face fell when she saw Ammar instead of Bilal was a clear indication!

SunnMereDil is all about perception! The one who looks like the wrong guy is actually the right one, and the one who seems perfect isn’t so perfect after all. Ammar’s shameless honesty in confessing his feelings vs. Bilal’s dignified confession - a clear contrast!

Bilal is sucha beautifully written character! The way he confessed everything with utmost honesty to Sadaf's mom just shows that he is a good guy!

Someone needs to tell Bilal - 'Agar Namdar Saab hote toh he would have been happy to see Bilal's transformation and would have been proud of him!'

I actually like it when the writing becomes unpredictable, and this is the case with SunnMereDil. So far, I haven't been able to crack the story ahead, and in fact, I didn't think Sadaf and her mom would find out that Bilal is the donor this soon!

I loved Bilal and Farzana's scene and Bilal's scene with Zaviyar! These two are genuinely fond of Bilal...Farzana definitely is a better judge of character than Sadaf.

I do not mind criticism tbh coz that gives the scope to improve but mindless criticism just for the sake of it is annoying!

A man who has no one to call his own, lost all hope, was a drunkard, is experiencing love & hope for d 'first time'! This feeling had to be expressed differently. I am glad Wahaj kept this mind & portrayed Bilal's childlike excitement & shynesse beautifully.

Also, his excitement and shyness was emphasised more in order to build and mount is inevitable heartbreak...We are bound to feel bad for him especially when we saw how happy he was!

Palat moment from bilal is expected as we know but sadaf also turning to see bilal is because she also started to feel for him but then she gets reminded of what devil Humsha said.

yeah, I knew about that scene as it’s in the teasers and OST. When I saw that it would be in this episode, I was wondering what made her turn around. I thought maybe someone called her or something but that was just her turning around to look at him and hold eye contact for a bit

Coming to Humsha...She clearly is the villain of the story. I find her scenes where she manipulates people annoying but at the same time I enjoyed her scenes with Bilal.

I like how annoyed and jealous she gets when Bilal talks about Sadaf but tries to hard to hide her real emotions in front of Bilalsmiley36

Coming to Sadaf, she is a poor judge of character and her judgement is completely getting clouded by what Humsha says and the fact that Sadaf herself made an offer to Bilal is what has further put doubts in her mind....She clearly has feelings for Bilal but will not even admit it to herself she is that stubborn!

Also, as a girl she is free to reject Bilal tbh, he helped her! Yes! but that doesn't mean she HAS to say yes to him....She is indebted to him for sure but marriage is a woman's own choice....Plus she knew her mom will agree to Bilal's proposal for Sadaf and to safeguard herself she said yes to Ammar which eventually will backfire as she doesn't know that the guy she perceived to be good will turn out to be bad! Sadaf hasty decisions and poor judgement will cost her.

I guess she says yes to Bilal but makes it clear that she has no choice as she is indebted to him but doesn't love him...Billu being Billu will step aside and fix her wedding with Ammar smiley36

Billu's devdas era will be back, Sadaf will continue to feel conflicted and yet will marry Ammar, the angst will be there, Humsha will continue to get irritated as Billu will 24*7 talk to her about Sadaf smiley36

I just hope at least this phase won't be stretched!

They emphasized in the earlier episodes how stubborn Sadaf is & does take hasty decisions on her own....We will see this in coming episodes too...She will be very stubborn when it comes to admitting that she has feelings for Bilal.

Exactly. I keep saying it is Sadaf's story.

Throughout, we are being shown how Sadaf's feelings for BA are changing. The contestation between her growing feelings for BA vs. her prejudice towards his character is one of the main conflicts driving story arc.

Meanwhile, BA's feelings get no arc. He started his blushing in e2 and was giggling and finger writing her name in e3. Even though based on how much of Sadaf's face he saw in e1, he wouldn't even have been able to pick her out of a police line-up until e5. But I guess in this world, being Naamdar's daughter is the Patronus Charm - knowing that an attractive girl is Naamdar's daughter is all that a man like BA (who had such deep distrust of women) needs to fall in love for the first time, where he never even feels a moment of doubt.

I have read this trope so many times. In all other genre fiction where this tortured hero trope is used and it's not a FL-centric story, you get to see how the man struggles with even recognizing his feelings. He's used to seeing women a certain way, so why this one seems different, he can't fathom at first. He is confused why he can't stop thinking about her. At first, he fights against his feelings and tries to bracket her like all other women. The contestation between his feelings of distrust for women and his growing respect, admiration and affection for this particular woman is a main conflict that drives his arc. Having some interactions with the leads at this stage is important so he gets to see this woman is more than just an object but is morally upstanding, loyal, trustworthy, worthy of respect (and no, just being xyz's daughter doesn't cut it). Then comes THE moment of recognition and acceptance that these feelings he is fighting are indeed love. This whole arc is what is entirely missing from the narrative. Instead, all we get is Expecto Patronum.

Only after he recognizes it's love, should the second conflict have arisen where BA struggles with confessing his love to her or feeling inadequate or that he is not good enough for her. This then propels further growth in him - that he needs to change if he were to deserve this woman. But we never got to see how the cktr struggled to go from being an addict to being sober, how quitting alcohol made him ill and took a toll on him, how he was tempted, but he still persevered and went through painful withdrawal and cravings because he wanted to be deserving of this one woman's love.

Phir dikhate that now he is sober, he decides that it's time he confesses his feelings to her. Over time they should have shown BA and Sadaf built a camaraderie over the phone. Maybe she could have given him some positive words of encouragement during his addiction recovery. So he now thinks he will get a positive reception when he finally proposes. He is giddy and elated before visiting her because that moment his dreams come true is coming. If he wasn't sure of her feelings, he would have been nervous, antsy, unsure whether he'll get accepted or rejected. Not giddy. This was partly a writing but mainly an execution issue.

Since BA's arc never really got any attention, but we got to see since the beginning how Sadaf's feelings for BA are evolving. Yes, BA's feelings may go unreciprocated first then reiprocated later, but there is not change in how he himself feels about Sadaf. It's a straight line. A constant. What changes throughout is Sadaf's reaction to him. There's a graph to it.

So, the stages of love will be Sadaf's not Bilal's. Though Haseeb seems to be using stages of grief instead to show Sadaf's love graph.

  • Denial
  • Anger
  • Bargaining
  • Depression
  • Acceptance:

People are overanalysing. Truth is that Sadaf is being shown as an idiot just to uplift Bilal just like every other KRQ male hero. His heroes have to be the ‘best of the best’ whose heart will be broken by the cruel heroine. Even donating bone marrow won’t be enough, Bilal Abdullah has to die to make Sadaf completely trust him.

None of those other KRQ stories were sold as never before seen love stories.

KrQ has written FL-centric scripts where men still get elevated. But the difference is in his ML centric stories, MLs get an arc.. In his FL centric stories, one sided selfless lovers get no arc. They are just there for the FL to react against and grow.

In PA, Afzal gets rejected but he gets his whole growth arc. In Mann Jali, Faris is unsuccessful in love but his character gets no arc. He is the same selfless lover till the end that Mehwish returns to.
