I loved the tone of the episode today! First of all, that a doctor on Indian tv even mentioned that he will be fine physically but take care of his mental and emotional health! Wow! And that too it was without any dhum-tana-nana or raising of eyebrows. Taking anxiety pills is a serious issue and that there is a gendered aspect to it, I liked that they accorded this the seriousness it demanded. Secondly, I lovveed how the entire time dev was surrounded by ma, mami and kids, he and Sona were just exchanging silent looks which said so much. Sona saying how the incident had shaken her, and Dev understanding that this has impacted sona. Can't express enough about those glances. Thirdly, the scene with baba and sona - sona breaking down emotionally was so beautifully done! I especially liked that she was guilty for not having paid attention to the anxiety Dev was having and NOT for having said those things in the first place. Even later, she is not saying sorry for having said or done what she did. Instead she focused on working on their relationship so that they can have better understanding and open communication. I think this we don't see on tv often and it is worth something really. Can't wait to see how they proceed with the track. I hope what they promised each other today was not just on surface, but actual work and the process is also shown. Because I would love to see that. That Dev works individually on his issues and both also work together. There is no point in keep saying sorry to each other and keeping all the anxiety inside.
What I found not so good, not surprisingly, is ishwari. Does anyone else have this complete lack of sympathy for her? She didn't touch me at all while she was crying today because woman? You are the reason this whole mess was created in the first place. And the way dev is how he is today as well. Like she didn't know dev-sona didn't want Ayush ka name to be changed and that it would cause tension within the family. So if you could do that then, then what's the point of crying now? When you see how tensed up everyone is. Just nyaka kanna, something we say in Bengali. It is okay how sona tried to console her but she just might have also pointed this out to her.
Would love to see where they take this relationship counseling track. And a lot of third wheels have been introduced on show before but none have been typically third angles so not too much worried about that. Even Natasha was smitten by dev back then.
