Same here. For me until it’s legal it’s not real. But I know, we are never getting that in itv shows. So, her acceptance sealed the deal for me here.

If people took fiction as fiction then there won’t be any problems. But taking Kabir Singh as inspiration and wanting a partner like him is really worrying. Yeah. The double standards and hypocrisy are so deep rooted in Indian society that I don’t see it changing soon. Ghum absolutely gets on my nerves. Toxicity in family is so normalized.

@bold: At this point watching Ghum is comedic. I'm always amused by the fact that they can use one set for three days straight for one conversation! Tell me how that keeps audience attention?? Especially when an independent girl, seeking education is being put down for being disrespectful and dishonorable.

@green: Anupama, Ghum, and Imlie..........all three have a triangle centered on a man. Anupama at least tries to call out the cheating and talks about her growth outside of marriage. Ghum is a total shitshow. Imlie is a young village girl marrying(forced and not legal) the same person her half sister legally marries. I can see where Anupama is attractive to trp aunties. But the other two boggles my mind!!!

I was soooooooo troubled by Kabir Singh. I was more troubled by the defense of it, especially by Shahid. Just say he's a shitty human being, who in real life would make a horrible partner. Even Shaurya Sabherwal that I adore......I would never talk to someone with that level of anger issues. I would recommend a good therapist first.

OH MY GOD....i remember hearing about this. After seeing the trailer, I stopped watching any of the promotions by Shahid....but I read about this.

The audacity in our society to say that physical abuse is acceptable is ridiculous.

I don't know if you watched QH. But I remember a scene where Asad slapped Zoya. I could never look at the couple the same way again. I watched the show on and off after that. But a man who slaps the woman he "loves" out of anger/frustration and tries to justify it is intolerable.

And if it's fiction, it's okay to denounce a fictional character right. Kabir Singh getting the girl at the end after everything was the real slap in the face! Also, it's not that good of a movie. Me and the hubby watched like 15 minutes of it and it was tooo toxic to continue. I do love the songs though!
