Good to see a lovely civil response 😊 I hesitate before posting here because it’s quite volatile often.
Mere hisab se, the viewers CAN see from the character’s viewpoint and don’t like the pity party that goes on within Pakhi’s mind 🤷♀️ She is an incredibly stunted individual who feels and is often MADE to feel that she is mature and sensible.
There are vamps and negative characters on ITV who make the lives of the leads hell for no valid reason (I am looking at you, Sulochana from MHRW). Closer home, baki ke Chavan parivaar ko le lo. No one likes them but they don’t evoke the same strong feelings, kyunki layered nahi hain woh log and are more larger than life compared to Pakhi’s character.
There is frustration intermingled with annoyance when Pakhi comes onscreen, because you KNOW she is not a traditional vamp or negative character per se but more like a twisted human being, who feels everything she is doing and saying is correct. She is the long suffering woman who was scorned and “forced” to marry her lover’s brother in a supreme sacrifice and now, her love has shirked her for his own wife 🙄
This makes her beizzati supremely satisfying because Pakhi is relatable and not OTT.
That’s why I feel Aish is doing a good job. She has literally brought the passive aggressive irritating character to life for me 🤷♀️
