He wasn't just talking about Sai, it was about Patralekha as well - his initial perception of her, his infatuation towards her, his opinion of her "maturity", all of that has changed to a point where he now feels nothing more than pity towards her (at least that's what I gather from his reactions).

yes words were for both but the expressions towards pakhi were completely opposite from sai . I just said the same in my PS in my post above! Neil was brilliant here right

He definitely was! It's one of those episodes one might have to watch several times just to catch all the nuances of Virat's character and his emotions.

Virat’s character was shown in its purest form. He is always a gem of a person(what he did to sai is still bad). He has the patience, tolerance and respect towards others and especially to the relationships in his family! We can see him respecting pakhis concern first, politely asking her to respect their relationship, making her understand patiently about her priorities, pleading her to not say anything that could disrespect his elder brother, explaining her as friend(expecting her to empathize) he has changed emotions now, and finally frustrated giving up on her!

never did he try to disrespect her! His words and emotions towards pakhi were controlled but at the same time showed his immense love for sai! He was very very clear! The way he said that he will not allow any woman to compare with his wife spoke volumes about his respect towards his wife and marriage ☺️

But alas his love for sai will be his weakness too! Pakhi now knows that she has no place in his heart and also knows how much virat loves sai! So she will make sure he will feel dejected in his pursuit for sai! Today we can see the pain virat felt when she raked his heart with those terrible words! Virat was literally showing his insecurities with his tears. pakhi is going to cash on it. If not her, she will make sure he will not have happiness with sai as well! That will be her game plan. Till sairat are secure in their relationship they are going to fall for pakhis vileness. 🥺

PS: the highlight for me is when virat derides pakhi with his looks when he explains how emotions towards a person change when you observe them closely. His words might be for sai but his expressions portrayed the opposite towards pakhi. Absolute brilliance of Neil bhatt 👏.

@bold - this is a question that I have had recently but have not brought up. What will it take for Sai (especially) to be secure in her relationship with Virat? Will Virat saying 'I love you' and reassuring Sai that he no longer loves Pakhi suffice? In Sai's mind, wouldn't Pakhi always be termed as Virat's "first love" (although it definitely isn't the case)?

And from Virat's perspective, what will it take from Sai's end for him to feel completely secure in their relationship?

I know that these questions are practically the basis of the show, but curious to hear yours and everyone's thoughts...

Direct Confession and consummation should seal the deal between them. This will provide Emotional and physical security in their relationship. But that is not the end in this story I think

I have read and followed discussions on the original storyline so I am bringing up some spoilers here so please don’t read the next paragraph if you don’t know the KD story.

what I understood from the story is that virat will feel secure and trust their relationship after consummation I guess! But sai has trust issues with him, may not be like suspecting him of cheating her but she feels virat love is not ‘complete’ towards her. This is because she heard from his mouth that she is not the first one! It kind of stuck to her mind. For her, virat is her first love and that makes him more special for her and she believes virat doesn’t have that special place for her. According to her, his love for her is always secondary. So when tough situations come up and she feels that he is emotionally not available she thinks she is not his priority! And also she was married young without much experience of life and heartbreaks so she needs more time to understand what love and trust are! That you can have them without being said. So it is that process of growth in sai I think this story Will eventually show!

So to answer in short, for virat confession and consummation would be enough to feel secure but sai might take repeated validations from virats side to fully believe that she has always been the ONE for him!!
