She’s not suggesting that actors should be prioritized as essential workers is she?  Bollywood certainly has the resources to do regular testing and that is a huge help in mitigating the spread of the virus. Bollywood personalities are getting infected because they are doing stupid things like throwing Birthday bashes.  And her counter argument that people watch movies therefore actors should get vaccinated is lame, to put it nicely.

Not just actors, everyone should start getting vaccinated in Maharashtra irrespective of age to stop the rise in numbers in the state asap. While 60+ is a high risk group but the amount of 60+ people working out of home everyday is much lesser than those in the age groups of 20-50. That's why really important to speed up vaccination and open it to all and not just 60+ age group, atleast in states like Maharashtra where cases are surging every freaking day.

Yesterday there were 2300 cases alone in Mumbai. And honestly in a film set, actors are the only ones who are unmasked throughout the shoot, the rest of crew is still masked at most of the times so I get actors being worried since almost every actor is getting covid from a film set only if we see all the names who got the virus recently. All of them were shooting. So we need vaccine for all urgently esp at a time when there is so much vaccine wastage across the country as announced by the govt yesterday.

Kuch bhi. I’d much rather teachers or subzi mandi wale be vaccinated as key workers ahead of rich actors who even if worst case scenario did get ill, could probably afford expensive hospital bills.

Nope. You would always prioritise by most likely to die from Covid. 20-50 yr olds may be out and about more, but are more likely to catch this virus and be just fine. The issue is people in this category will go out and catch the virus and then spread it to someone 60+/more vulnerable who would struggle to fight off this virus.
Covid cases are not really the issue and won’t really be going forward. The issue is always going to be those at risk of hospitalisation, number of deaths and the pressure it puts on healthcare services and medical professionals.

BBC’s number one story today was production issues in India causing a slowdown in vaccines, so I wouldn’t be getting my hopes up on upping production.

That's why the vaccination process should be open to under 50 along with 60+ age group like it is right now in states where it's getting difficult to control the surge. Not throughout the country as of now. Always better to vaccinate the asymptomatic carrier too along with the vulnerable. It's a win win situation for the state and I see as the only solution ahead instead of curbs and lockdowns that won't help anyways.

Yup, that's where the priority should go. The actors. After all they provide such essential services in the world. First responders, health care workers, transportation workers, and food production workers can all take a seat. Because those actors need them vaccines to make.....*looks at notes*.....movies.
