My point is, all 3 are top actresses right now according to Ormax. So I see a pattern here (both Katrina and Deepika are extremely gorgeous, though Deepika is a far better actress than Kat) and then there's Alia, who just seems like an anomaly. I see the pattern breaking with Alia.
I see Alia as someone who is appreciated more for other factors than looks, such as her acting skills and child-like nature ( though I honestly don't see anything in her acting to write home about, she does performance-oriented roles but rarely does justice to them but that's a matter of perspective) but the latter has somehow been her USP and she has courted success.
My question is: with Alia, has there been a shift in the Indian audience's sensibilities? Has looks taken a backseat? And if so, for how long? I don't think it will last long, I see the next No. 1 again being a stunner, like a Tripti or Manushi.
Indian audience has always been enamored with looks and glamour, rather than acting skills, in women. or has this changed?
