Speaking of Kunal longing for Kuhu's attention, do y'all remember the noodles scene, when right after Kunal gets up and leaves after Kuhu feeds him the first bite, Kuhu is like "yeh theek nahi hai!" and he turns around, ready to go at it with her, but she instead shifts the attention away from him completely? His facial expression there said everything! His irritation was a clear sign of him wanting her to give him something, at least a little attention.

Oooooh!!! I like this observation/wishful thinking

Okay, I have to mention this. I love this about Kunal that he almost never invades Kuhu's personal space like male characters usually do on ITV. I really appreciate that about his character. Every time I used to see their scenes and I would start to prepare myself that the Kuhu's space would be invaded (coz even though they look romantic on screen and all, they make me cringe real hard when I imagine the suffocation the girl must feel) and luckily, that would never happen. There has only ever been one-two incidents when he has done that. Of the top of my head, one of the scenes where he did that was when he went to meet her after the Navratri slap video and Kuhu had pushed him away that time.

In my imagination, the only difference is that Abir was more involved in the process and he would be the messenger between the two because of Kunal's dialogue, "I know tumhe meri to koi kadr hai nahi, kam se kam mere Italian suit ki hi kar lo".

Thanks! At least in my imagination (because it'll never happen on the show!), I would like to restrict Abir to a more catalysing role. He was preoccupied with his break-up and needed a distraction so he threw himself into helping Kuhu. In the process, Kuhu got the support she needed so she started going to Kunal less and less (because she didn't want to depend on him when she knew what was coming) -- ergo, his statement that she doesn't value him or his Italian suit that he is casually mentioning for absolutely no reason. 😉

Friends who check in are the real MVPs! ❤️

Dumbledore and Trelawney is a combination I never thought I'd see in any context, but I don't not love it. They are the two teachers with the best style! 😎 And LOL, I thought I'd successfully dated myself when I revealed that I watched Gossip Girl in college, but I guess not. 😆 I'm 31.

Okay, so in my head, if Abir hadn't overheard the conversation between Kunal and Kuhu the day before the wedding, Kunal would have gone to meet Kuhu the next day after she texted him (hard eye-roll when I remember how Abir takes Kunal's phone and texts her "main nahi aaunga". Seriously, dude? Now is not the time for nakhra). What happens after that, I'm not quite sure. In the introspection scene where Kunal asks Jugnu about love, I remember him thinking to himself that if he used his brother as an excuse to save his marriage, he'd be even a bigger loser than before. So I'd like to think that translates into a positive outcome if he had gone and had a conversation with Kuhu then?

The sadistic part of me likes to think that Kunal once again screws it up when he tries telling Kuhu that he wants to stay with her (this is a separate drabble altogether, so if someone wants to write it, I wouldn't complain *wink wink*), and as a result, they divorce.

So, in my head, if Abir hadn't overhead the conversation between KuKu, Kuhu would have left with her bag as Kunal would have been left standing alone with the calender sheet in his hand and tears in his eyes.

The whole night, he would look at the photo frame and start reliving past moments, good and bad. He would think that he deserves this but he still wouldn't want to let her go. He wouldn't be able to sleep the whole night, neither be able to enjoy his bhai's functions to the fullest.

Later, he would see her message and go to meet her. He would try to convince her to give them more time. She would say that it's pointless and what is even the point of all this. In his haste, he would again use his Bhai as an excuse and she would baras pado on him saying ki "ofcourse, aaj ke din bhi tumhaare liye sabse zyada important Abir bro aur Mishti hi hai but #enough! Main ye jhootha rishta nibhaate nibhaate thak gayi hu. Jab tumhaare liye humaare rishte ki koi value hi nahi hai to ye natak continue kar ke kya faayeda." He would then ask for a second chance saying quoting her line from before leap and remind her of the moment. He would try and convince her to give him a second chance to be her Hero, to give her the fairytale she had always imagined. They would keep going back and forth and then Kuhu would finally say that there is no point and we will meet in court only now.

Now, comes the interesting part in my imagination, I have 2 possibilities going through my mind.

1. Where Kuhu accepts him in the court after a having flashbacks of this conversation and gives him a second chance. I personally don't like this ending too much.

2. Kunal gets his lawyer to get the date moved further so that he can convince her of his love and then we get to see the adventures of #TadaptaHuaAashiq

Now, the HC feels complete (because it's tailored to my imagination, duh😆)

They are!! I have been trying to inculcate the habit of checking in with her and other friends ever since.

I love that combination myself!! I imagine more Dumbledore and less Trelawny for you but someone who would have 50/50 traits would be so dramatic in life. I actually want to be that dramatic for no reason. It would be so much fun😆. Now that I know your age, it makes it easier not to imagine you as a timeless owl and more as a person for some reason. 🤪

I also love that there were times when Kuhu was okay with him touching her and times when she wasn't and she was very clear which was which. And Kunal only touched her when he assumed he had the right to, but the moment she made it clear he didn't, he let go. Like, I love their confrontation after KC when he tries to hold on to her arm, as he's used to doing, but she says "don't touch me." He immediately lets go and his expression registers that he knows he has crossed a line (given that her reaction was to how he had behaved with the cake). Same with the scene after the hospital -- Kunal cornered her against the cupboard and got close when he thought their equation had changed after the events at the hospital, but the minute Kuhu made it clear that she was still going through with the divorce and marking the days on the calendar, he let go and stepped back (even before he realised that she didn't remember what happened the night before).

What's cool is that we even see the reverse. In the terrace picnic scene, Kuhu tries to hold Kunal's hand to comfort him but he expresses that he is not really ready for that in that moment. Kuhu pulls her hand away and instead offers him the coke can, as though to say, it's okay, this conversation is happening on your terms, and I'm not trying to push my own agenda or take advantage of a vulnerable moment. You can trust me with your feelings.

When even the leads have had some very iffy moments (like Abir's "accidental" pushes that landed Mishti on the ground), it's kind of amazing the level of poise and mututal consent they have maintained with these two.

Aw, I might not have revealed it if I knew that was the consequence. I think I rather prefer timeless owl.

I want to be that dramatic too! Maybe that is why I love ITV so much; it fulfills my hidden desire for OTT costumes and drama. 😈

I also loved your two-outcomes HC and I like the second one better as well. In fact, I would love a semi-comedic scene where the judge sees these two bickering and she's like, are you sure you want to get divorced? And Kuhu and Kunal scream, YES! and NO! simultaneously, so she's like divorce not granted, I'm extending your grace period three more months and mandating counselling! You two have a lot to figure out, and you clearly need help sorting through this baggage.

Oooh yes!! Exactly!! Mutual consent!!

Uff!! My mind is getting blown away with how progressive the writers have kept things with this couple. These small small things make me so happy that they are not the main leads.

Anyone know the social media of the writers?? I'mma go write a thank you note to them.

OH! And speaking of consensual touch, how could I forget, the zipper scene? Kunal at first just gently taps Kuhu's hand, as though asking for permission, and it's only when she lets go of the zipper that he proceeds to help her with it.

and then when they come outside, kuhu confronts kunal outside the court,

kuhu: tumne divorce ke liye mana kyun kiya? sach-sach batao kunal ab kya chal raha hai tumhare dimaag mein😡

kunal: kyun bataun? I mean ab toh 3 months ka time hai na toh aaram se bataunga😉 see you at the wedding tonight 😈 bye

and with that kunal goes leaving behind a confused & angry kuhu

and then their tashan being dulhe ka bhai & dulhan ki behan throughout the mishbir wedding rituals☺️
