Part 18
Raman POV.
I was sleeping peacefully wrapped in my cosy blanket when I felt some water drops on my face and arms ,which were out of blanket . I thought it started raining but then realise that may be it's raining but why I m feeling the drops as I m sleeping on my bed ,I was so lazy to open my eyes but still has too as the water drops had hit my body two three times continuously. I finally after much struggled with my mind and eyes opened my eyes and find ishita in front of dresser which was not much far from my bed . She was drying her wet hairs, ools so it was her not the rain ,I narrowed my eyebrows and asked getting irritated " what are you doing here ishita ".
And in return I heard her jingling voice " you yourself told me to shift in your room ".
Hearing her the reality stuck me , yeah she had shifted in my room yesterday as I was the one who gave her permission . Umm i recalled that her presence is not my problem but the water drops were and I said " that doesn't mean you will interrupt my sleep in morning ".
In return she very innocently asked " Maine kya kiya " .Aww she flickered her eyes as if non can be innocent as her in whole earth . Like I was getting drowned in her innocence that's when my mind reminded me that I was woken by her and I scolded her for sprinkling water drops on me . She bit her tongue when she realised that she has actually interrupted my sleep and apologized me softly " uff how can someone me innocent, cute and adorable at the same time ".
I was looking at her all lost ,she was looking too beautiful and pure after shower but that's when I realised that she turned her face towards me and can catch me checking her . Next moment I covered myself fully and declared " let me sleep peacefully ". And she went ,after she left I was trying to sleep but it was far away from my eyes ,as I was confused with my own behaviour . She was ishita the girl who assumed wrong for me and cheated me and my mother for her friend . I hated her from the day I came to know about her intention till the day the met her in that party . I just hated her more when I got to see her in party , she has already cheated me and now with other man ,such a s**t she is . I just felt bad for me for being attached to her with nuptial bond , I was so busy in giving her deadly glare that I overlooked her nervous state ,that's when I heard Ashok Khanna, the womaniser of town that he is going to bed her today by spiking her drink. I tried to ignore the matter thinking that she will handle it but the husband in me didn't let me ignore that fact that someone is bad eyeing my wife .I looked at her thoroughly that's when I noticed her nervousness as she was pulling her knee lenght dress down again and again stabding in the farthest corner ,trying to be away from the crowd . She was again and again gulping her saliva which was clearly visible that's when I noticed Ashok Khanna reached her and passed a glass of juice to her ,she atfirst denied but then had it when he insisted, I just can shook my head on her stupidity. The newspaper now a days is filled with molestation and sexual assault news ,and most of the accused are friends or relatives then also this stupid lazy girl cannot help herself to get her own drink but had it from ashok Khanna's hand .And I was not left with any choice but to take her from there, before that moron ,notice ishita,losing her senses .
I brought her to my house ,that was a sleepless night for me,all the lost memories got reverted again .I was in two mind ,one mind was not ready to believe that ishita can be a pray while other wanted to give her a chance ,atleast to explain herself ,next morning. Next morning ma too said those words which I thought for ishita when I saw her with her boss in party but this time I defended her and to make me feel I was right , ishita woke and apologised to us . Ma was still not ready to forgive ,why only her even I was reluctant . Not stretching the matter I offered to drop her to her place ,she then told us about her sufferings after leaving my house that day ,I can't help but felt bad for her .
She told me to drop me her outside the street where her PG house was ,I opted for same ,she was gone but still I was in two mind ,one of which was with her while other was against . I was lost in my thoughts when I heard some voices from the direction ishita was gone . I noticed some men were teasing her and trying to touch her , she slapped him next moment and he tried to misbehave with her and again I have to save her , then she told her that these men bother her daily. Again husband in me came into action and advised me to take her along ,even I cannot deny and brought her to my house . Though ma was not happy but still I convinced her .
That was the day and today is a day ,she never left a chance to amuse me whether it's either her apology, or her working skills ,or her fight with Aruna, or doing karwa chauth fast for me . She show me her different colours but every color screams my name . I had to believe that she is has tangled her life in order to help her friend and I want to give her another chance you know leap of faith . Though I want to give her a chance but still I m bit reluctant, seems I need some more assurance as she has directly pointed on my character, she has called me cheat and womaniser not only that she has played with my and my mother's emotions not only that she married me to take revenge ,I mean marraige is the most sacred and pure relationship which last for lifetime and she took it as a game .
I was firm that I needed some more time but karwachauth night changed everything. I mean seriously ,she did fast for me without food and water that to hiding it from us . Yeah she was right we would had mistrusted her if she would had told us earlier but she did everything sneakly . That day I decided that If she can do that much for me then obviously I can give her a chance and offering her to shift in my room was my first move . Yesterday she shifted to my room and besides my warning she started interfering in my life .Today is first day of her kn my room and she disturbed my sleep on very first day ,I m suppose to be mad at her but instead I m admiring her ,Seriously whats wrong with me.
I was still lost in my thoughts when I again heard footsteps ,I knew it's her only as no one come to my room ,they all know that I don't like any one in my room till I m there. So obviously it's her only , I was making assumptions and she entered . She directly came to me and said
some sweet words for me. I felt good listening that she is genuine and don't want to rush things rather will wait till I became comfortable with her . I m so glad and contended listening to her .
I was coming down to see ma and what I saw ,a lost ishita . Seriously something is wrong with this girl, she was about to bang the wall and before I could call her ,she hit the wall . I so wanted to laugh on her but she winced in pain making me worry ,I ran to her and asked where she got hurt ,I was tensed for her while she gave me a smile and said its ok . Before I could say something, she rushed to kitchen while I was still standing looking at her . When ma called me I realised that I too had started behaving like ishita, all lost .
I shook my head in disbelief and walked to ma ,ruffling my hair . I settled beside ma and we started talking.
R- good morning.
T- puttar come ,I want to talk to you .
R- yeah ,boliye na ma .
T- puttar why don't you take ishita for shopping .
R- shopping ? Why , do you need something ?
T- no actually ishita is your wife ,I mean daughter in law of this house . Though I like her cloths but you know how your pummy aunty is ,she will surely mock us on her cloths . I think you should get her some nice cloths ,some designer saree and suits .
R- ma aapko jo theek lage wo karo but why I will go for shopping with her ,you go waise bho aap hamesha ghar par hi rahte ho .
T- you know about my health ,how can I go for shopping . Now a days malls are so big ,if I will only take a visit ,I will be tired . You people go and complete it ,waise bhi pummy will surely take me for marraige shipping, so I want to rest till then .
R- is it necessary.?
He asked making a pleading face .
T- yeah it is .
Toshiji said instantly.
R- ok will take her for shopping after office .
T- good .
Saying so toshiji called ishita and informed her same, she got happy with the thought of shopping then asked " can't we postpone this shopping for few days ".
T- why ?
Ishita got silent listening to this when toshiji asked this to her . She didn't said anything but was just looking at the ground ,toshiji asked again ,then ishita said " actually mummyji ,I left my previous job in mid and had not got salary in this month ,so I m kind of running short of money ,so if we can...
She was yet to complete her sentence when toshiji started laughing ,ishita looked at her then Raman and asked " mummyji ko achanak kya ho gaya ".
R- you don't need to pay for it , you just have to come and pick some nice outfits.
I- is there something wrong with my clothing?
Ishita asked checking herself ,Raman shook his head in negation and spoke " nothing like that ,its just they are too simple for a new married girl ,you know in punjabi's a newly married girl should be heavily dressed always with all her makeup . "
Raman explained when ishita said " we are not newly married ,its already 10 months ".
R- yeah but not a year ,its less than that .
I- ohh ,is it necessary?
Raman nodded while toshiji instructed ishita about her dressing in following days till pummy aunty will stay here . Ishita just nodded looking at Raman while he got busy in talking to someone over phone .
