I am slightly disgusted

Hi guys.

I have been watching the show for some time now, and it's been okay so far, however, today I was pretty angered by the way they handled the issue of abortion.

Ranbir nonchalantly lied to his mother and said that Kanya wanted an abortion. And his mother, being a complete moron, easily agreed that Kanya could have an abortion if she wishes.

HELLO!?! Isn't abortion a complex issue. I found it extremely stupid that they would address an issue as serious as abortion so jokingly.

True, the show is a comedy, but the show still has some general responsibility towards the audience.

This really isn't an issue of being pro-abortion or against abortion. The issue is about societal responsibility. Ekta Kapoor and her writers should not be dealing with such a severe issue in such a simplistic manner. I was very disappointed with today's episode.

What do you guys think?

iam against abortion. but here they were trying to show that kanya is bad so that mallika will tell her to leave the house. so thats why you shouldnt take this seriously. plus they handled it in a funny way

I agree with Canadian Beatuy.. aborting your child.. that is a very big issue.. a mother in law cann't take it so lightly without trying to explaing it to her how it like to have a child, or even try to reason it out, or try to convince her, how can you take such an important issue so lightly.. i thought that wasn't a great msg portrayed to the public...

i dnt think abortion is wrong at all --- not tht i wud do it but i wud if it was the best thing to do
cuz lyk sum grls r rele YUNG n hav kids n then realize they kant take care of them nd put them in ORPHAN HOMES or w.e there kalled nd then ur making the kid suffer neways-- i rather jus b DEAD without rele knowing it then b sent to an orphange my whole lyfe 😳

I agree with you canadian beauty. Abortion is a serious subject! However, in defense to the shows context i don't think they were making abortion out to be something silly. The whole point was to make Kanya look bad as she was considering to abort the child which is why Ranbir wanted to leave her because the act is so wrong. But the plan back fired like always and Malika didn't care for it...which is wrong on her part...i agree! But at the end of the day it is just a fictional show with comedy as it genre.

i am actually pro-choice. i think its up to the woman to make the decision, because you never know the circumstances which she may have to go through

however, in this situation, the issue was not handled properly. What kind of mother-in-law just agrees so easily....it's a BABY not a plastic doll or something! it was not realistic at all, nor was it even funny.

it would have made more sense just for ranbir to have said that it was a misunderstanding and kanya was not pregnant. Besides, why would Mallika say that Kanya can go ahead with the abortion and that she will just lie to the family. wow. great family values on display. (not!)
