BCCI secretary objects to appointment of GM who s**t-shamed Deepika Padukone

BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary has written to board CEO Rahul Johri and objected to the appointment of Priya Gupta as the BCCI's General Manager (Marketing).

Choudhary, who wrote the letter to Johri and marked a copy to the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and other BCCI officials, pointed out to an article written by Gupta on Bollywood star Deepika Padukone during her stint for a national daily.

Back in 2014, a national newspaper had tweeted a video on Deepika and captioned it "OMG! Deepika Padukone's cleavage show."

Deepika responded to the video and said: "YES! I am a Woman. I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??"

Gupta then went on to defend the newspaper in an article. She wrote: "Deepika, just for the record, we do not zoom into a woman's vagina or show her nipples What about all the times, and there have been many, when you have flaunted your body off screen - while dancing on stage, posing for magazine covers, or doing photo ops at movie promotional functions? What 'role' do you play there? So why the hypocrisy?"

Choudhary was critical of BCCI's selection process and said a simple search on the internet would have revealed the stories done by Gupta.

"A simple search on the internet, revealed the following stories mentioning the candidate selected for the post we are presently concerned with, regarding an article that the person authored, the content of which is for everyone to see," he wrote in his email.

According to media reports, Gupta has been offered a hefty pay package of Rs 1.65 crore per year. She has accepted the offer.

This is not the first time Choudhary has objected to the appointment. According to sportstarlive.com, the BCCI secretary has refused to sign the appointment letter for the second time since March 1.

In his letter addressed to Johri, Choudhary said: "So far as the recommendations of the Justice Lodha Committee on the subject are concerned, there would be a maximum of six managers to assist the CEO who would have expertise primarily in the streams of Operations, Finance, Technical, Compliance (legal), Human Resources and Media.

"Clearly, the need for Marketing Manager in an institution like BCCI was not felt to be of primary concern by the Justice Lodha Committee."

Btw maybe Mr.Chaudhary also doesnt know Deepika and Priya since then patched up. Empowered Deepika also allowed her skirted to be lifted in the mouths of four men during the very next Filmfare award function. So if the issue is JUST the s**t shaming its all good.
