*3rd PERSON P.O.V*
The truth finally did come to light. Kanak watched as mausi ma bent her head down in defeat and shame after all the lies she's woven and the facade of a family she's been flaunting to the outside world which held high regards to them. Uma looked in disbelief at the happenings treacherous tears threatened to spill down his face which wore a fake hard expression pretending that this didn't affect him. He didn't want to break down he always believed himself to possess the qualities of a strong man,and he wasn't going to let this one incident ruin his life long belief. In a jiffy Kanak saw him run up in high speed his face flushed in anger, she ran behind him as a reflex instinct to hear a loud echo of a glass breaking coming out of their room. She fastened her phase to find the usually calm Uma now turn into a uncontrollable beast. His perfectly designed room was now in a mess. Glass pieced shone on the ground. The bed looked crumpled up all it contents laid on the ground.
"Ima" Kanak reached up to him.
"Stay away from me" he screamt.
"No I will not" She replied with finality.
"You barley give a damn to anything I say. Do as you please but just as you know I'm not interested in being a part of your daily drama dosage where we fight enough to kill each other. Taunt me as you please today I'd not intervene" He spoke.
"Ima" Kanak ignored his words and took his warm hands into hers wiping away the blood that poured out.
"What have you done to yourself" She slightly scolded in concern.
"What do you care" he snapped.
"You wanted the papers to your Bhabo's shop right?? Here it is. Now why don't you take this and walk out of my life like everyone just did" he threw the documents at her.
She simply left the papers aside.
"Uma please calm down. This is not you" She pulled him to sit on the bed.
"I'll do as you please. You're no one to order me about"
"I'm your wife. Remember?" For the first time since their wedding she acknowledged herself as his wife.
"In a forced marriage where we ignore the very existence of each other." He retorted.
"Can we save this fight for another day. Now just show me your wound so I could nurse it"
"My wounds run deep within, it hurts inside. Nursing it is as impossible as hoping you'd ever accept this wedding of ours. So tell me how are you going yo nurse my wounds"
"Like this" She wrapped her arms around him leaning closer leaving no space whatsoever in between.
"Leave me alone. Don't touch me" He tried to push her away but failed as his energy drained after the emotional and mental breakdown he just had and Kanak's hardning of the grip each time he tried to push her didn't help as well.
"She's Stubborn and crazy" He whispered.
"I heard that" She faked hurt.
"It was meant to be heard" he rolled his eyes.
"So when are you going to drop this new found attitude of yours" She asked still hugging.
"Why are you the only one capable of holding up an attitude and throwing tantrums" He spoke annoyed.
"Let go" Uma tried again.
"No" She spoke steady and strong.
Uma calmed down as his nostrils hit the familiar smell of sandalwood which he has grown to love. His eyes moistened as he recalled his aunt's treachery.
"Kanak""
"Hmmm..." She finally broke the hug.
"Please go. Go back to where you came from. Think of me, my family, this wedding and Ladanu as a nightmare and let it go. I don't want to hold you back here."He said carassing her cheeks.
"I'm not going anywhere. You come here" She said parting the pillow on her lap.
Uma placed himself comfortably on her laps letting sleep take him over. Kanak placed a light butterfly kiss on his forehead. This time she had no thoughts of leaving all what she wanted to do was to bring her husband back to who he was and who she's strangley grown to like.
