"No you are not coming with me"

"Kya?"

"I don't want to go with you...I think I'll find myself another date for the evening"

"Don't you dare pull that one on me" his eyes lost all shine at that idea and got serious.

It was too easy to make him go on his knees.. STILL..

"Ok you tell me what to wear then" finally James Bond had succumbed to her wish.. Her triumphant smile was proof of that!!

It was their 15 year school reunion and this time "Suman Malhotra" was going on an official date with her knight in shining Armour finally !! But all he had in his closet was black black and more black...and she was going crazy because of the monotony.

If it came to Shravan to do his shopping , and he so preferred to do it by himself , he would always pick black.

"But what's wrong with wearing black tonight? It's a formal party"

"Shravan you and your obsession for black are driving me crazy !! when was the last time you wore some other color to a party unless it had a desi theme?

When I asked you to go with Sia for her birthday shopping you picked a black dress for her !! Which 3 year old wears black to a party in the park??"

"Correction it was black with white polka dots and a pink ribbon.. Don't say it was all black " he corrected

"Tumhara kuch nahi ho sakta.. Din bhar court me kala kawwa ban ke ghumte ho tumhara dil nahi bharta?" she was sounding exasperated now.. There was NOTHING she could find for him...

"Tum to rehne hi do.. Tumse better choice hai meri..who wears yellow and orange to work in the blazing heat of delhi? Aisa lagta hai jaise road par se flame chal ke ja rahi hai !!"

"Take that back or go alone !!" now she was upset.. She knew she did not have the best choice in her own clothes..but then she knew what looks good on him ...wasn't that more important??

"Sumo..." he walked up to her in the closet and rested his head on her shoulder.

"I am sorry baby.." his arms were now wrapped around her palms locked on her stomach.

"Hmm.." she said smiling with the tickling sensation of his flock of hair on her neck also because she finally found the perfect outfit for him .. which would go well with hers.. the gown he had picked for her as a surprise only for this party.. He was almost prepped for Prom for this one apart from the BLACK tux he had picked for himself again!!

Finally Shravan was dressed in a cool grey suite with a maroon dress shirt..which matched the color of her gown..almost..

"Joote to black pehan sakta hu na?" he asked sheepishly as she gave him one last check from top to bottom... she was enjoying checking him out and the way he was grinning at her attention made ger narrow her eyes almost in a seductive way a small smile creeping on her lips thinking of her plans for after the party...

"Hmm.. ok. Now go check on your daughter I ll be downstairs in 10 minutes.."

"Nahi.. 10 minute lagne wale hai to mai bhi yahi rukunga.. You saw me change now it's my turn!!" he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

"No way.. all I did was watch.. You.. I don't trust !! Out now" she pushed him out giggling

When she came floating down the stairs in her flowy wine red gown Shravan wanted to go nowhere but upstairs back to their room. His lady was ageing like wine herself.. Her dizzying effect on him only increased each day..

"Papa...PAPA!! next bite!!"

"Oh.. sorry darling" he fed the next spoonful of food to Sia who was eagerly gobbling up her mom's homestyle mac n cheese, veggies ignored since Papa was feeding her today and choti dadi had no say!!

"Puttar tu rehne de.. Mai kar lungi na.Jao ab Suman bhi a gayi.. Haye kinni sohni lag rahi hai beta" Kamini was more worried about the kid ignoring healthy food tried to divert Shravan's attention.

"Thanks Chachiji" Sumo beamed at her seeing how she was trying to push Shravan away from the dining table.

Sia and her dad were a force to reckon with once together.. No one could have their way and this was not always in the best interest of Sia as Shravan had spoilt her bad!!

"No Papa.. aap jayenge to choti dadi mujhe buccoli khila degi.. Its yuckkky" she made a face and Shravan laughed.

"Aap ko nahi khaani?" he was almost on the verge of saying OK when Sumo interrupted

"Oh well then no ice cream also.. Hai na choti dadi?" she winked at Kamini who caught on quickly

"Uh haan ji puttar ji.. No ice cream then" Kamini triumphantly smiled.

"Uh oh.." Sia pouted and finally picked the veggies making Sumo and Kamini hi-five each other as Shravan finally stood up from his seat in defeat.

"Ajeeb jabardasti hai" he was shaking his head...

They sat in the car and Sumo was still laughing at his pouting face.. "You are such a stubborn baby!"

"Bachcho ko force nahi karte ..you are a bully"

"Its for her own good. Aur thank god hum joint family mein rehte hain Shravan warna you would have spoilt her rotten." Suman was still laughing in disbelief of how much he was affected by the little things related to Sia

" I spoil you rotten as well.." he said slipping his hand behind her seat to touch her bare back...

"Shut up and drive.." she reprimanded, cheeks reddening on contact..

"Sab pe hukum chalati ho.. I can't wear black, Sia can't eat junk food if she wants.."

"Haan sab pe hukumat chalane ka hi kaam hai mera" she was now a bit irritated with the incessant complaining

When they reached the venue Shravan definitely stood out in the sea of Black and white...towering over everyone he was suddenly the object of adoration and lusting for all the girls..

He took her hands and intermingled their fingers as they mixed up in the crowd meeting everyone.

She wasn't able to figure out if he was hesitant due to the attention he was getting... it's not like this was new...

"Shravan.. Mai jara Purna se baat kar ke aati hu"

"Mai bhi chalunga"

"What? I need to do some girl talk!! Hum kya puri party me aise ghumenge.. Jode me?"

"Kya problem hai?"

"Come here..." they went to a corner which was not so crowded

"Kya hua?"

"Pata nahi.. I feel awkward with the attention..upar se these clothes are making me conscious" he said looking down..

"Kya? The Shravan Malhotra.. Who has won deadly word battles in packed courtrooms.. Is not able to handle attention?" this was not something she had noticed before

"Sumo that is work.. But I have never been in demand like you were in school and I preferred being under the radar half my life.. Specially in front of these people.. It's weird.. Last time also .. I had left as soon as you left.. I was there for you.. Whatever I did was terrible... but then I was there, in fact the entire party was there so I could get to dance with you..."

"Shravan.. That past is all gone now..and these people are our friends.. And do you even realize how jealous I am right now.. They can't stop drooling over you.. But I know you are mine !! Hukum chalane ke liye...ease up sweety.. I am just around.." she tiptoed to peck him on the cheek as he smiled wide.

He finally let go of her hand as she walked away like a dream on a cloud.

Soon a very eager looking girl he did not recognize walked up to him and introduced herself.

"Hi Shravan right? Mai Ria tumhare class me padhti thi"

"Ria.. uh.. Hi" he politely replied.

"You know I always found you cute in school..par tum sirf padhai pe hi dhyaan dete the.. Ab bhi aise ho ya fir.. Care for a dance?"

"Umm.No thanks.. Mai actually kisi aur ke saath aaya hoon." he was replying now desperately looking around for Sumo

"Haan to koi baat nahi... wo to aati rahegi.. Till then.."

Reluctantly he took her hand as it was impolite to say No to a lady twice..

She clung onto him like a leech the entire song and he was more than happy when it finished just in time as he finally found Sumo.. His face changed expressions quickly anticipating how mad she would get if she saw the way he had danced with another girl..Ria had completely misjudged his change in attitude..

"Wo Suman Tiwari hai na? She was such a bully.. I still remember how she treated you that day at school.. Horrible person I tell you. Iske jaise ladki bhagwan aur na hi banaye to achcha .." Ria was not able to finish her next line as she saw Shravan and Suman both smiling at each other from the distance.

"Nahi.. wo Suman Malhotra hai... the girl of my dreams..she is a bully still..true.. She forced me to wear this outfit which you have so unabashedly ogled at..but she is coolest wife on the planet as she did not punch you yet for clinging on to me the way you did.." he said walking past her to take Suman by the hand and twirl her in his arms ready for the next dance.

"Kya hua tumhe Malhotra?" Sumo asked looking at his eyes full of adoration...

"Pyaar hua hai.. My rockstar" he said smiling ..

"Dekha.. Maine kaha tha na.. Aaj meri choice ke kapde pehen kar gaye the to kitne mast lag rahe the tum..warna hamesha wahi .. black black black"

"Tum kitni bak bak bak.. Karti ho pata hai.." he said coming out of the bathroom in his grey sweatpants and black vest.

"Chup kyu ho gayi.." he walked upto her snaking his arms around her waist..

"I guess some black things do look good on me.." he asked his eyebrow raised

"Hmm" she responded with a kiss causing him to moan..

"Sumo.. there is one more thing you will love about black color..."

"What?"

He switched out all the lights and walked in behind her snuggling his face into her neck..
