Rani turns mom this January

The actress, who is already booked on family time, is pregnant and out of the country with hubby.

Over the past few weeks, rumour mills have been buzzing overtime with the news that the stork has visited Rani Mukerji, who tied the knot with filmmaker Aditya Chopra on April 21, 2014, in an extremely private ceremony in Italy. Rani, who has always been guarded about her personal life, refused to comment on the pregnancy.

However, Mirror has learnt that the actress is in her second trimester and the baby is due in January. Rani's sister-in-law, Jyoti Mukerji, a popular TV actress, accidentally confirmed the news saying, "Yes, Rani is pregnant."

A source close to the actress revealed that she is presently travelling with Aditya and is out of the country. The couple took off to London at the end of July and Rani was spotted by a fan at a spa getting a pre-natal massage. "They returned to India last week after travelling in the UK for over a month but have taken off again, no one knows where," added the source.

Since, UK seems to be a frequent getaway, will the baby be born in the Queen's City? "No, the delivery will take place in Mumbai," the source asserted.

Rani, whose repertoire boasts of frequent collaborations with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar, was last seen as the tough cop in Pradeep Sarkar's 2014 film, Mardaani.

The actress has no professional commitments at the moment despite speculations about her signing a heroine-centric project. Also, insisted the source, that talks of her taking a hands-on role in her husband's production company is nothing more than idle gossip.

"Rani is already booked on family time. She is enjoying married life and the idea of doing nothing, looking forward to the baby," the source signed off.
