It's never easy to deal with biggies. It's turning out to be a case of Shahid Dikhla Jaa.
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 8 which has witnessed a drop in TRPs, it is learnt from insiders, is being dominated by Shahid Kapoor who is butting into the creatives. That means, the Haider actor wants the script and presentation of the show to revolve essentially around him, presumably because he is the only 'star' presence.
22 episodes are still to be shot. News is that Karan Johar, who still brings an element of wit to the show, will be dropping out shortly in accordance with the time he had allocated.
Politically correct as ever, Karan doesn't have any issues with how the show is going, but will no longer be available in Mumbai. He is scheduled to start shooting late next month for his next directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in London, featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan.
The hunt is on for a suitable replacement. Farah Khan is being cited as the name who could step into KJo's shoes. Last year, she had come to the rescue of Bigg Boss at the last hour when Salman Khan expressed his differences with the goings-on in the house of crude bickerings and arguments. Of some of the other jury members of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, choreographer Ganesh Hegde and actress-dancer Lauren Gottlieb have been doing their jobs professionally.
Actor Manish Paul is also committed to complete the remaining episodes. Madhuri Dixit, who was one of the main star attractions of the earlier seasons of the show, is out of the picture. It is unlikely that she will return to the show, as she made an unceremonious exit, following the poor shows of her feature films Dedh Ishqiya and Gulaab Gang, at the box-office.
Meanwhile, new dance reality shows have been flooding the small screen. Undoubtedly, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was a trend-setter. Shahid obviously requires to smell the espresso and fast.
