knows no other place apart from Ahmedabad. She is ever ready to visit Ahmedabad to meet a brother who is almost available in GD society itself and for a mother who is 24/7 available on phone. Also the same mother doesn't bother to meet her daughter and her family when they visited Ahmedabad the last time

She never asks to visit her sasural. Its only when Bapuji wants to visit or asks Jetha to make the arrangements , she like a newly wedded bride follows footsteps. On her own she neither has any plan nor any excitement to visit their ancestral home.

Yet she is adarsh bharatiya nari

But somehow I felt the show is a little sexist.I didn't like it when daya said sorry to jetha for giving the key to him and for not checking that his pant was torn. Why is it always the wife's responsibility?
When daya told jetha to go to Ahmedabad for one day, jetha refused. And when daya said,"aisa thodi hi hota hai?" jetha said,"shaadi ke baad toh aisa hi hota hai" and daya smiled.🤢So after marriage a woman should never go to her maayka.👎🏼
All these would happen in olden days.Nowadays aisa nahi hota hai so this show seems to be a little outdated too sometimes.

No Subha, shadi ke baad aisa hi hota hai had a different meaning. It is actually applicable to both men and women. Shadi ke baad all good things are assured only in dreams.

As for Daya, she has more wishes fulfilled in the family than her husband. Jetha allows her to visit her house in Ahmedabad quite often but the lady is insane. If he asks her for a barf ka gola , she will in turn ask to go for an Ahmedabadi barf ka gola.

As for being sexist I agree. They ridicule Bhide for ironing his wife's sarees. Mehta had to hide the washing powder packet and even buying vegetables is the responsibility of the wives alone.👎🏼

In TMKOC land EQUALITY means

- Being equally insane and applying all nonsensical Daya ki maa ka nuska

- Dancing like an idiot to celebrate every petty occasion.

- Women participating in every function and games irrespective of the fact if they have any idea about what they are doing.

- Men will have to carry their wives to every night out or else they will plan their own night out.🥱

Hey
I agree with you both.

I simply can't understand why they show things like jethalal asking 'daya, rumal la, churan la.' bathroom jaate hue towel bhi Daya hi deti hain! Why sir? Are you invalid that you can't get up and get these things. It just boils my blood. For gadas women are only for there for cooking, doing household chores.

And in old episodes, jetha also said ki Bhide to aurat hi hain! Just because he helps his wife? Kaun se zamane mein ji rahe hain aap?
