As promised, scenario four.
At Arjun's office:
It is late at night and Arjun is in his office trying to get some work done. His phone starts ringing. He looks at it and sighs. It's Ovi's call. This is probably the fiftieth time she is calling him. He lets the phone ring but does not answer. He wishes it was Purvi calling him but of course it's not.
He goes to the window and looks out into the darkness. A flash of lightning illuminates the sky followed by a loud thunder roll. It starts raining. Arjun closes the blinds and walks back to his desk. He has developed a hatred for the rain. It's a constant reminder of his times with his beloved Purvi. Most of their happy and romantic moments happened in the rain. He sits on the sofa and has a flash back about Purvi. He remembers the night he confessed his love for her and also when she confessed her love to him. Tears well up in his eyes. It's very difficult for him to forget her. She was and still is the reason he wakes up every morning. Her smiles lights up his world.
Arjun goes to his desk and opens a drawer. He takes out a photograph. It's the photo of Purvi and himself on the day of their engagement. He sits and clutches the photo to his heart. "Why Purvi? Why did you have to do this to me, to us? I love you more than my life. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. You've ruined everything" he cries.
The phone rings yet again. It's Ovi. He does not pick up the call. He is thinking that Ovi seems to feel that he's softening up to her because he is cordial with her. He is only talking to her in a cool manner because Purvi has asked him to do. He will do anything for Purvi.
At DK's house:
Ovi is frantically trying to call Arjun. It's really late and the weather is bad. She is worried since he hasn't returned yet. A few weeks have passed since she got married to Arjun but she is still unable to get his love. They're like complete strangers. The only time Arjun is ever truly polite to her is when she is at the office. She's working with him as suggested by DK. Arjun is a completely different man when he's in meetings. She tries her best to keep up with him. They speak to each other only at work, but then when they're at home they're back to square one.
Today she had a severe headache and had to leave work earlier than expected. She left Arjun in his office to do his work. Now it well into midnight and he still has returned. She is cursing herself for having left him. She tries calling yet again. He does not answer. She gets upsets because she knows that he is avoiding her. She vows yet again that she will eventually win his love.
Back at the office:
After staring at the photograph and reliving the memories of his time with Purvi, Arjun decides to get back to work. He has an important presentation to make in the morning. He opens his files and realizes one is missing. He looks for it but is unable to find it. Without thinking he grabs his phone and calls Purvi.
Purvi is asleep when the phone rings and she answers without looking at the number. "Hello???"
"Purvi I need the Mehta file! I can't find it anywhere" Arjun still does not realize that he called Purvi.
Purvi sits up and looks at the phone, "Arjun? Why are you calling me? It's really late!"
Arjun is brought back to reality. "Purvi? Purvi is that you?" he holds his breath thinking he's dreaming.
"Arjun, how many times do I have to tell you that you're married to Ovi. Why are you still calling me? You're making it very hard for me to forget you."
"I will make you mine Purvi" he vows. The phone rings again and he answers thinking it's his beloved but it's Ovi.
"Arjun, where are you?"
"Give a rest Ovi. I'm at work." He snaps and hangs up on her. He is lost in thoughts of Purvi.
It's now morning and rushes home to take a bath because he has a presentation to make.He goes into the meeting and makes his presentation. All are impressed. He bags the contract. His client invites him for a drink. He declines but is eventually persuaded. They have a few shots and decide to call it a day. Arjun however, has had one too many and he's in a drunken haze.
He goes home and sees Ovi. He gets really angry and shouts at her. Ovi is unable to comprehend his behaviour. He starts acting demented. He yells at Ovi " Purvi is mine alone! And I am hers! No one can ever separate us. I want Purvi and by God, I'll get her."
Meanwhile, Arjun is near the lake. He is only thinking about Purvi. He decides to end his life because the pain of separation is too hard for him to bear. Ovi and Purvi reach the late just when Arjun jumps in. Purvi cannot swim but dives into the water without thinking. She grabs on to Arjun but is unable to keep her grip on him. She makes a second attempt but Arjun pushes her away. He does not realize its Purvi. "Ovi, let me be! I cannot live without my Purvi anymore"
"Arjun, Arjun, it's me Purvi. You need to help me here Arjun else the both of us will drown"
The water starts covering Purvi's head. She swallows a mouthful of water ad coughs. She goes under and fights to break the surface. She calls out to Arjun and that's the last thing she remembers.
Arjun brain has now started functioning again and he realizes it's Purvi in the water and that she's drowning. He collects himself and fights to gain the strength to save his love. He grabs her and struggles to make it out of the water. Purvi is unconscious. He lays her on the ground and starts performing CPR. He is panic stricken, but soon Purvi coughs up some water and opens her eyes at looks at Arjun. She thinks she is dreaming. "Arjun what are you doing here?"
He smiles hearing her voice. " purvi i am right where i want to be. I'm at your side." He hugs her.
"Purvi, you are my reason for living. When i lost you part of me died. I love only you"
Ovi is silently watching the exchange between the two. She clears her throat to make her presence known. Purvi looks up and is embarrassed. She looks had completely forgotten Ovi.
"Ovi, i'm sor..."
Ovi stops her mid sentence.
"Purvi i am forever indebted to you for risking your own life to save Arjun's even after knowing that you cannot swim. Thank you".
Ovi then walks over to Arvi. Purvi tries to move away from Arjun put Ovi stops her. "It's alright Purvi. After seeing Arjun's suicidal and demented behaviour, it made me realize how i had been acting. I was completely selfish. But i miss do what is right else Bappa will never forgive me. Purvi please accept Arjun. You two belong to each other. I'm sorry to have come in your way."
Arvi looks at Ovi as if she's drunk. Arjun speaks, " Ovi, don't play with my feelings here. You know how much i love Purvi!"
Ovi looks at her husband and says," Arjun, i'm not playing. I'm going to get this married annulled so that you and Purvi can start life afresh."
"Ovi, you're giving up what you fought so hard to win?" Purvi questions.
"Yes Purvi. I realize now that Arjun will never love me the way i love him. Please accept him for my sake.
Purvi is hesitant but eventually gives in. Arjun goes to Purvi and they hug. "But Ovi, what will you do?
"I'm going back to Canada. Romil has always been in love with me so i will go and meet him. Who knows i might fall in love with him and we might have a love story like yours." Ovi smiles and all three hug.
Arvi confess their love to each other once again and go home to tell everyone the news.
Again, i'm sorry for the long post. I get carried away guys. How's this scenario?
