i too said the same thing masti ...infact Purvi herself corrected Ovi when she said that she is doing this sacrifice for her mom's happiness not for her ..

She was going ahead with the marrige inspite of knowing Ovi would get hurt .

She even wanted Manav to do her kanyadaan inspite of knowing it would hurt Ovi .

She changed her mind when she was offered the deal .

She did it for her mother not for foster sister at all .

Just as Ovi is termed as selfish for not thinking of Purvi ...Purvi is equally selfish for not thinking of Ovi .

Infact the acceptance of the deal was no noble tyaag but a selish decision . She did it for her priority and that was the woman who adopted her ...her mother .

If her husband is not able to get over his ex-lover, it is not Purvi's fault and nor is it her responsibility to now leave her aaji and whatever else she has, to move away for Ovi;s marriage sake. That is why I think, Ovi is simply utterly selfish. Wanting to make your marriage work is in your hands, not by dictating to other people what they should do instead to make your life easier. This is just my outlook and my POV, so no offense to anyone ! Although, I agree that they were being practical in thinking about moving though. :)😊

PP2….Ovi is a character who at 19 has a clear vision in indentifying the problem, propose a solution and go about getting it. If I get her to interview for me, I would definitely hire her😆. Why, because at her age when most young see the world through a color glass, she sees it amazingly clear without the added baggage of high principles of scarifies etc. etc. etc. 😉

See at the present situation also she knew what the problem was i.e; Purvi😃

The solution to the problem i.e; removal of Purvi from the environment😃

And how does she goes in achieving it, - she goes to Archana, close the door and talk in private to tell Purvi to go somewhere else….👏👏

Wow…I sat there and admired her….amazing execution ….nothing really selfish, but amazing analytical power to me…👏👏

Now, why she didn't thinking of going away herself….I guess at 19 that hasn't developed….I could think of taking my hubby to a far away land on a pretext of work and having a mini-honeymoonEmbarrassed😉Embarrassed….But if the Cvs keep her character true to nature…that will come in time😆😆…..

What mother Archana should now know. She should walk up to DK darling and say, send son and bahu to a nice place on the pretext of work for few months….pretext of work, because it will make Arjun relaxed, not put unnecessary pressure on his poor soul 😉and the change of environment with divert their attention and start the healing process….😃

Now, with the time I have, I will get Purvi to work and convince her to get married as Kool said to somewhere out of Mumbai….again change of environment and memories so that attention is diverted and healing can start easily😃.,…..and why I said a few months to pack Ovi/Arjun to say the Alps…to buy the time to marry Purvi off…..that is what I the mom could do……

But, of course, Cv will want drama and nothing of the sort with happen….😉

Hi Kalapi, you can call me Pooja :)

I guess I will have to agree with you on your points here because that would inadvertently be the right thing to do if this was real life and I would probably as a parent do the same thing. However, since this is a show, I maintain that we are only going to get drama, twists and senseless, "unreal" circumstances and situations that are only comical to say the least, and all of this in the name of marriage, sanskaars, mahaanta and above all a "pavitra rishta" ! :P 😆

But, I guess, if we see half the forum posts and comments, it can easily be said that Ekta also plays to her viewer's and their needs. Most people here would like to see ARVI back together despite the sheer foolishness of the track now and I guess Ekta will play that emotion by showing some unnatural element that will result in the divorce and the inevitable re-union thus making everyone happy except people who expect reality and sense. It is quite the circle and quite the game that she has learnt to play with experience - create a story, beautiful characters, a relationship that everyone likes to identify with, target emotions attached to that couple and wham - create a TWIST which seems irreplaceable to people like us, however because we insist that we must get to see this beautiful couple back together (even if they were stupid enough to play along themselves) and wham - TWIST again to bring them together.

It sometimes feels so useless trying to analyse and de-construct characters on this forum and venting out frustration when I know at the end of the day, it is a show, Ekta's baby to manipulate and that nothing shown will ever come close to reality. Script changes according to Ekta;s needs and TRP;s and subsequently what the viewer's want. :) 😊

I for one am a slave to this and only end up watching it for the Kirloskar prince as handsome as the Knight in Shining Armor :) 😛

Kalapi she probably has not suggested going to Canada bcoz she knows Arjun won't 😆 she is a very astute girl . Selfish yes but very astute and goes to the root of the problem .

I agree with your post .

Varsha, I wanted to response to you about the Chndramukhi part, but had to run out in a hurry...😃

To me Chandramukhi was a self realized soul who loved Devdas without wanting anything in return. Her love for him changed her from a mere courtesan to a yogi...Chattopadhyay modeled the story on Radha, Krishna and Mira...Mira being Chndramukhi who only love Devdas without any expectation...and her devotion was such that she looked after him unconditionally...Purvi as Chandramukhi...I don't think so...

On the other hand Paro was Dev's loved from childhood. The relationship was such that there loved and fought together like all kids who grow up. Paro's character was such that she had a healthy dose of pride for her beauty as well as self worth. So, when the time came for taking a decision and Dev behaved exactly as a rich kid who didn't have the gut to go again his dad for marriage (but had a healthy dose of male ego and then when it was too late, couldn't control himself), her pride kicks in and she gets married to a rich man. As married, she performs all her wifely duties but almost a sanyasini...she stopped taking care of herself, didn't dress up and in fact gave away all her jewelries to her daughter...but, she performed all wifely duties, as I far I can remember the actual stories...she cared for Devdas deeply, but never cross her boundaries...herself pride was very strong...Now, Purvi, can become Paro, it depends on how the Cvs develop the character...

Anyway, my worthless 2 cents...and what I remember of the story

kalapi i totally agree about chandramukhi ... she loved Devdas unconditionally . What a beautiful analysis .

taya said that she can see Purvi as a Paro .

I think what Varsha meant was Purvi as the other woman ...i don't know what she meant but i construed it that way . Purvi loves Arjun and remains unmarried and his lover .

But Archana wont allow her to remain unmarrried . Sulo had tried to get Archu married a number of times even before the divorce came thru ...once with Satish , once with Jaywant .

Archana will be instrumental in getting Purvi agree to remarrying .

Ok friends forget about my post on Devdas & Chandramukhi..Something I found odd with the way Purvi looked..
Masti and Kools I agree Purvi's craving to eat out and touch Arjun's photo with the urge to surge will end her up being prego...Cant wait for the track..
Today as Archana put Ovi in check b4 giving her right advice why did she not do the same when she found out Arjun-Purvi love relationship? WHy did she support it by giving lame challenge and once challange was met publically going around declaring engagement & wedding?. She never stopped Sulo from supporting Arjun-Purvi's relationship...Sulo should have really stayed out knowing her both Naati's were involved with same guy. Archana should have stayed out completely.
If Ovi was selfish than so was Purvi...Both had their own reasons to be selfish...
I blame Arjun for creating the mess and on top of it rest who supported this alignment..
Then came MS. Purvi and her tyaag which was no way tyaag for Ovi, it surely was for her MOM Archana. 3 idiots are not happy and going around crying...If 18, 19 and 22 yrs young ones did not see this coming but 75 yrs old Sulo, 60+ DK and 54 yrs old Archu should have known this would happen...

Thanks Kools for reading me exactly what I thought...I just used Chandramukhi as a other woman but in reality that woman with Paro characteristics..
@ underlined that is exactly what I meant..I did not word it right but u all understood me what I was trying to say...😃
Thanks Tayaba for catching it to see Purvi as Paro 😳
Lastly my dear Kalapi thanks for the beautiful write up on Devdas, Paro and Chandramukhi. 👏
